bert was released at noon so
they weren't able to " visit
with . her. Lynn returned
home on.Sundayfollowing an
emergency appendectomy on
Wednesday evening. Other
area residents .in hospital at
Winghatn are Mrs. W. Hart -
in and Maurice Ivers. Maur-
ice had been in • London hos-
pital since breaking his hip in
a fall from a pear tree but
was returned to Wingham
last week.
,Bill and Pat Blakeand;
family, up- from Cambridge
for the Weekend, were able to
bring Oliveto her home for ,.

for church for the winter

On Wednesday, October
14 the Brookside Cross Coun-
try teams participated' in . a
Cross Country meet at Point
Farms. Fn a of the eight
teams from Brookside won a
first place pennant. Midget:
Junior and Intermediate girls
turned` out on top in their
division. The intermediate
and Senior boys also won in
their divisions. We would
like to express special thanks
to the a individuals who gave a
special effort and received a
medallion for f rst place. This
included. Kenny Logtenberg,
Scott Hackett and Jean Mc-
Whinney. We would like to
Congratulate the Senior boys
who ran to a perfect score of
ten points which filled the
first four places.
The Puppeteer group cal-
led : `Kids ` on the. Block",
presented al. puppet show
Friday afternoon: This is: our.

Chosen Chicks 4-H club was
held at the home. of Dona
Campbell. The members,par-
ticipated by making dishes
which showed the emulsify-
ing agent of eggs.
Sandy Campbell and Bren-
da Hackett made Top Hat
Souffle. Dianne and Debbie
Raynard and Sherry Nixon
made a Caesar Salad. Suz-
anne Alton and Vicky. Hack -
eft made
ack-ettmade two different salad
dressings..
The fifth meeting was held
at the home of Gloria Hack-
ett. The leaders discussed
patched eggs, bringing it �I
all together, hard and soft

cooked . eggs and a party
theme.
The members worked on
demonstrations. Suzanne Al-
ton and .. Debbie Raynard
made ' hard cooked eggs.
Sharon. Alton and. Vicky
Hackett made cream° puffs
and Brenda Hackett and
Sherry Nixon made poached
eggs.
The sixth meeting of the
Chosen Chicks . was held at
Dona Campbell's home. The
club discussed their presen-
tation for achievement day.
They played Egg Grammar.
All three meetings closed
with 'refreshments when the
girls tasted the dishes they

Whitechurch on Thanksgiv-
ing Sunday when Ryan
Christopher' Richard, son of

were baptized.

Teeswater fair held on
Thanksgiving weekend had
fins; -weather this year after
seven years of bad weather.
A large crowd attended both
Friday evening and Saturday
and the evening dances were
also well attended.'
Mr. Rick Jones and friends
are on °a hunting trip up
north.. They 'hope to get a
moose.
Mr. and Mrs. George
Lowes of near Woodstock
visited with her brother, Mr.

family on Sunday.

loss of his wife, Jennie

in her 83rd year in Wingham:

a number of years in the
Langside area after their
marriage wwlvre their three
sons attended Langsde
School. They later moved to
Kinloss, Teeswater, . and
Wingham. The funeral ser-
vice was held at McPherson
