One dry day
Last Wednesday, October
14, had nice dry weather for
a change. Jerry Huber took
advantage of it tO combhie
his grain corn field at the
Bert McTavish place.
Assisting Jerry' was Lloyd
Lamont of Concession six El
west. They had the first
wagons loaded with corn into II
the Elevator. Then George mi
Thorburn of the Rh Conces-
sion west of Ripley followed. IN
Then it rained overnight and
there were no more mo
deliveries till late Friday. om
On Thursday as the tractor
and plows of Wally Pollock
went up and down the above .=
field turning over the ground MI
it was followed by a real big in
flock of gulls. There must tad
have been hundreds of them mg
looking for earthworms.
Over at the Ripley Grain in
Elevator last Wednesday M.
afternoon it was a busy place
again. With corn wagons ar-
riving, there were.stffi things "MP
to complete following the in- 1
stallation of the new dryer. a
Then an expert was awaited .1.
•W start the fire in the dryer 11S1
