1981. Although suffering
from a heart condition. his
sudden death was unexpect-
ed. .
He was a native of Sydney:
Cape Breton Island. but has
lived for some years in Cali-
fornia.
M is survived by his wife;
the "former" Jean Thom.
daughter of the late Mr. and
Mrs, Ed Thom of Lucknow.
He is also survived by one
son, Ned Martin and 'a
brother. both qf Long Beach,
California, and one sister in
the Maritimes.
Mr. Martin is a brother -in -
of Margaret Thompson

Lucknow, died at Pinecrest
Manor Nursing Home .. on
Saturday. October 10. 1981..
following a lengthy, illness. in
his 85th year.
A farmer in Ashfield
Township for 40 years; he
retired in 1970. He was a
member of Ashfield and
Lucknow Presbyterian Chur-
ches.
Born in Ashfield Town hip
on. July 10. 1897. he was the
son of the late Neil. MacDon-
ald of Kintail and the late
Margaret Taylor of Kintail.
He married Olive Willis of
Port Albert on September 7
1921 in Port Albert.
Ile ' is • survived . by five
sons. Lorne and Allan of
Ashfield; Gordon and Neil of
Goderich and Willis' of Tor-
onto, and three daughters,'

Marion MacLennan. also of
Ashfield .' and Velma Hage-
dorn

He was predeceased by his
wife, Olive May Willis, his
parents, two sisters and one.

He was the eldest son of
the late George and ;Eliza-
beth Twamley, and resided
in Ashfield Township and
also: in Lucknow , prior to
:moving to London.
He was the beloved' hus-
band of Ruby, (Ellis) and the
late Esther (Hasty) Twamley.
Surviving are his family. -

and Mrs. Carman (Elva)
Whitmore of ' London, Mr.
and Mrs. Coin (Fernel.Croz-
ier of Ancaster and Mr. and
MrsJ Ralph (Shirley) Stokoe
of Mallon.
He was loved by grand-
children. Dr. and Mrs. Ken-
neth (Dianne) Rocking. Mr.
and Mrs. Robert (Lynne)

The Lucknow Junior Insti-
tute met on Tuesday. Oct-
ober 13 at 8 p.m. in the
Lucknow Town ' Hall.
Mrs. Jessie Alton was
guest speaker and gave an
interesting talk on her recent
trip , to Singapore.
The members discussed
the following business. It
Was decided to have a table
at the Kinette's Christmas
Bazaar on December 5. One
of the institute's ` members
will attend the projectionist
course being. offered at the
Lucknow Library to learn to
operate the library's project-
or which is mailable to clubs
and organizations for show-
ing films. The Ladies received
an invitation to attend the
Howick Junior Institute
meeting on October 29 to see
a film about the Huron
County Homemakers.
