The guest speaker was Fran Eiphick who gave an interesting demonstration on making. Christmas crafts and deacons from dried flow- ers, silk . flowers and felt material. Thesociety is planning a tree planting program in II co-operation with the Luck - now . Village Connell, , to re- place the, older trees which have been cut dowry in the .last few years. The society's annual banquet will be held in November. A discussion was held con- cerning the beautification of the village for the 12Sth i birthday celebration planned for 1983.. A report of • the Ontario Horticultural Society conven- tion in .Niagara Falls was given by the delegates who attended representing the Lucknow Society, Jean Whit - ,by and Joan Robinson.. • Mrs. Whitby and 'Mrs. Robinson remarked .lir their report that these conventions serve a learning function as Well as .being social events.
