Robb of R. 3, Goderich and

Robert Stanley Darling of
Hanover. Rev. ,Hugh Nugent
officiated at the double ring
ceremony at 7 p.m.
The bride is the daughter
of . Mr. and Mrs. Gordon
Robb of R, 3, Goderich and
the groom is the son .of Mr.
• and Mrs. ,George Darling of
R. 4, Wingham.'
Given in marriage by her
parents, the bride chosea
long gown of white .chiffon
with full sleeves and sweet-
heart neckline. Appliqued
lace adorned the empire
waist and sleeves. She cat-
ried a cascading bouquet of
salmon roses, lilies and
baby's breath with white
streamers.
She wasattended by Dian
ne Readman of Wingham,
friend of the bride, .Nancy
Darling, R. 4, Wingham,
sister of the groom . and
Kendra Elphick, R. 3, Luck-
now, friend of the bride.
They wore similar gowns.
of sweat pea polyester with
sheer jackets. They carried
bouquets of green and sal -I
_mon roses,. lilies and baby's
breath with green streamers..
The ,groomsman was Bill.
Darling of Sarnia, brother of
the groom and Colin, Lamont,
Goderich, cousin of .the
groom and Glenn Robb, R. 3,
Goderich,, brother of the.
bride ushered the guests.
Music during the cere-
mony was supplied by, th e
trio of Murray,- Susan and
Alex Irvin, who sang, We've
Only Just Begun, 'Annie's
Song and Turn Around.
A reception followed at the
Lucknow Community Centre
where the bride's mother re-
ceived' guests. - She wore .0
polyester dress in figured
rose shades and a corsage of
dusty pink roses.
The groom's mother as-
sisted. She wore a polyester ,
dress of small pink flowers
on an off-white background..
Her corsage was deep pink
roses.
The bride changed to a
navy crepe dress with floral.
designs of mauve, wine and.
light blue for the wedding
trip to northern. Ontario.
Following their return, the
couple is residing in Hanover
where the groom is employed
at Bennett Pontiac Buick Ltd.
-The bride was employed at
Elmer Umbach Pharmacy,
Lucknow, prior to her mar-
riage.

A meditation was given by
Mrs,. Wilfred Drennan.
There are so many things for
whish to be thankful, each
and every day should be one
of Thanksgiving.
Mrs. Houston gave a piano
solo, Sweet Genevieve. k A
timely reading, October,
Autumn's. Blaze of Glory,
was given by Mrs. Brown,
Mrs; Houston gave court-
esy remarks and closed the
meeting with prayer. Re-
freshments • were served by
the committee, Mrs. Brown,
Mrs.` Hackett and Mrs. Dren-
nan.
Unit 4
The regular meeting of
Unit 4, Lucknow United
Church Women, was held on
Tuesday, October 6 with an
attendance of 30.
Mrs.Harold Greer, presid-
ent opened the meeting with
a poem, The Land of Plenty.
Thanksgiving was the theme
and the roil call was answer-
ed with a Thanksgiving
Thought.
Reports were given'-. Citiz-
enship and Social - Action by
Mrs. Stuart Collyer; Friend-
ship by Mrs. Graydon Rit-
chie; Christian and Mission-
ary by Mrs. Ken Houston;
Treasurer by Mrs. Ken Cam-
eron; and Social. Functions by
Mrs. • Charlie Davies, with
donations received for tit?
turkey ; banquet.
Mrs. Bob • Campbell con-
vened the program, Mrs,
Armstrong Wilson gave a
reading, Margie's Thanks-
giving, and Lisa Collyer.
played two pleasing piano
solos. The scripture was read
by Mrs. Ken Houston and
the meditation, Missionaries
To -day, giving and receiving,'
was given by Mrs. Bryce
Elliott. Mrs. Houston follow-
ed with prayer.
Mrs. Campbell than intro-
duced her sister, Mrs. Dun-
can McCallum of Hanover.
Mrs, McCallum, was guest
speaker, gave . a most inter-
esting talk on herwork with
the refugee program
A combined effort was
undertaken by. four Four
Hanover. Churches to spon-
sor a refugee family and a
family of seven from Cam-
bodia was sent to them.
A few months later they
were joined 13 other rela-
tives, parents, sisters; broth-
ers with families. The family
had been separated while in
the refugee camp.
Mrs. McCaliuinwas chair-
man of the committee -and
she delighted her audience
as she related interesting,
storiesof their work with the
Cambodian families, twenty
in all, and of their eargerness
to learn the English language
and accept Canada as their
home.
Mrs. Wilson 'expressed
thanks to Mrs. McCallum
and presented - her with a
gift.
