Mrs. Jessie Dunbar Mar-
tyn died last Friday October

General Hospital in Peter-
borough. The .former Jessie
Dunbar Mercer, wife of the
late Harry Laishley Martyn,
known in Ripley as Lyle
Martyn. She was in her 85th
year. Visitation was on Sun-
day at the MacKenzie Me-
Creath Funeral Home
in Ripley. Rev. Hugh Nugent
of Knox Presbyterian Chur-
ch, Ripley conducted the
funeral service at one thirty
on Monday afternoon, Oc-
tober 5, at the. Funeral
Home. Internment was in the
family plot in� Ripley
cemetery.
The late Mrs. Martyn is
survived by two sons, Mur-
ray of Toronto, and John of
Peterborough, also six
grandchildren and one great
grandchild. She is also 'sur-
vived by a brother Malcolm
W. Mercer, of Toronto and
four ' sisters Miss Beatrice
Mercer of Florida, Susan
(Mrs. W. L:. Heaslip), Mabel
(Mrs. A.C. Butterwo
and H ldred (Mrs. N.A.
Donald) all three of Toronto.
Htildred is the wife of Nor-
man A. MacDonald of the 8th
concession west, former
principal of the Rlpley
Public School and now
retired Toronto school prin-
cipal.

in Bruce County at Ripley,
Point Clark, Kincardine, and
Chesley, The H.L. Martyn

Funeral held
Mrs. Lorne Reid of Kincar-
dine and forinerly of Reids
Corners died in her 78th year
on Sunday, w o ber 4,1981 .in
Kincrdine and District
Hospital. She is survived by
her four daughters Evelyn
(Mrs. Jim Bradley) of
Highway 21 and the 12th con-
cession in Ashfield township,
Marion (Mrs. JS. Robb) of
the 2nd concession west in
Huron township, Islay (Mrs.
Lovell McGuire) of Brant:.
ford' and Gladys (Mrs. Dave
Nesbitt) of Eirkton. She was
predeceased by her husband
Lorne, one son, and two
grandeotis 1 .
The' funeral service was
held yesterday afternoon,
Tuesday, October 6 at the
MacKenzie McCreath
Funeral Home in Ripley. In-
terment ' followed in ; the
RiPleY Cemetery. Sympathy
is extended at this time of
bereavement.
