It was greatly appreciated, Ross Erringt i, Secretary, The Lucknow Agricultural Society. Dispute contract To the Editor: You may recall that en two occasions in the recent past the Huron County School Board was about to buy boilers of foreign manufacture despite. the fact that theref are a nuni1 er of competent Canadian boiler manufacturers who could supply this equipment, one of which ..is located in. Huron County at Seaforth. The foreign boilers at the ` Goderich High School have been installed, • . Because of considerableeffort by Our company in the fall of 1980, Canadian boilers of our manufacture were installed. in the McCurdy School in Huron Park instead of the foreign • boilers. The board'redlized a c lisiderable savings as a - result of our efforts. . • • We have just•learned that, at the advice of Mr. R. Egan, the board's consulting engineer, the board has' awarded a contract fora new'bolier in the Seaforth District High School • to a contractor 'who will supply a boiler of ;foreign Manufacture. This is despite the fact. that this school• lit only '/ mile from our plant . Robert Bell Industries paid taxes this year into the Huron County school system in the amount of $2,457.05. If the taut paid by our employees,is added to this it would.easily double • the amount. We have..been informed that a difference of 51,932,00 exists between the foreign bailer and our boiler. . In light of the sagging industrial base iu Ontario, the tens of thousands of. dollars that our company .has contributed to the educatilnnal tax -base of Huron :County and: the substan- 'fiat savings that the school board enjoyed last year at our .~ ef'`fert, we. cannot • understand the decision of the school board in this. instance. • We make assurance to all who receive this letter that our company will take every possible step to . remove this injustice, We: would be more than happy to discuss this • matter with you and explain our view of the . numerous • details involved. We are at your service1 • Yours truly, C. B. Smith, B.A. SC„ 1'. Eng, Design and Production Engineer, a Goi'illapiayed Beethoven Ever see a gorilla, play Beethoven?
