The families of the nine daughters of Effie and Peter Macintosh' met to enjoy a, barbecue lunch. In attendance were: ° Eun- ice's daughter, June and her -husband,: Earle , Brooks of Kitchener;. Nines son, Don. ald Rowand, his' wife, Irene and daughter, Janis ' Kaster and her husband, -Art, Han- over; , Donalda's son, Sandy MacMillan,, his wife, Ruth ' and daughter, Nancy of Terra Nova; Hazel (Mach- tosh) Anderson, -her grand- children, Eric, Lucknow; Maureen, Michael and Kevin Cowan and his wife, Lynne, - all of Toronto; Irene (Macin- tosh) Godbold, her husband, Jim, her son, Peter, his wife, , Norma . and family, Chris, Jane, Beth and Jamie, all of Terra Nova; Irene's daught- er, Cynthia Recraft and hus- band, Jimand family, Mary Jane, Susie, Jenny and Peter Michael of ' Maxwell; Ruth (Macintosh) Brown and her husband, Liv, . Vancouver; Her son, Dill of Owen Sound and her son, Donald and wife, Judy and family, Jam- es, Drew and .Joycelyn of Ottawa visited earlier in the week, Ruth and Tim Tor- ranee, daughter : and' son of .Peter. and . Mary Torrance., Kingston, alsovisited this summer.. The youngest members present at - this gathering were Dawn and Dayne Kast- er, children of Mr. and Mrs. Art Kaster and Sara Kate Cowan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kevin D. Cowan. They I are the 6th generation, des. cendants of Mary and `her husband, Peter MacDougall, who homesteaded on the 4th concession of Kinloss. Thein daughter, Effie and 'her hus- band, Peter' Maciptosh and family of nine daughters lived on the farm presently owned by Mr and Mrs. Wm, Dickie.. The Macintosh sis- ters'grandmother,` Mary (MacKinnon) MacDougall ' emigrated from the isle of Skye, Scotland in 1853 and was given Crown land on the I 4th concession of Kinloss. Mrs. William ,Campbell was appointed as a delegate to attend the Flesherton Split Rail Festival on September 26. The area convention to be held at Ayton on October 7 and 8, is to be attended by Mrs. Marshall Gibson, with Mrs.` George Whitby as alter- nate. Mrs. Stewart MacGillivray and Mrs, Armstrong Wilson were nominated to ' go the Rally, in, {Paisley on October 15. .. Mrs.. , .Marshall. Mrs., John Collinson: Mrs. Moncrief's topic was, Sheep, and spoke on the best cuts of lamb, . where they come from and how . to cook; them. She informed the ladies that Ontario lamb which is fed .grain and grass has ;a better flavour than the , Australian lamb which is only fed on .grass.
