Rev. Douglas. Kaufman of Owen Sound • officiated at the ceiemony. The bride, Betty Lou, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Maize - of- Lucknow and the groom . is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrie Slade°of Clinton.. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white jersey gown . with A- line skirt flowing' into a chapel . train. The front and back lace bodice gathered to a stand up collar and the full sleeves had matching lace inserts and cuffs. •A picture hat of the same lace held 'her full length veil and she carried a .bouquet of silk roses, stephanotis and ivy. Beverley Maize, sister : of the bride of Oriliia was maid of honour; She wore a cran- berry jersey gown with shoe - ,string straps and three -tiered skirt. Her bouquet consisted of silk roses, pink. mums and baby's breath. Plpwer girl, Heather Mc- Gee, niece of the bride 'of Gederich, wore a long white Princess . style eyelet gown . with accenting . pink bows. She carried a basket of silk pink and white mums. Ken Slade, brother of the groom of Cambridge, was the best man. Both: groom and best man wore matching brown, pinstripe. three-piece suits, white shirts and silk rose boutonniere. He wore a white jacketand shorts and, match- ing whiteshirt with brown ruffle. Guests were ushered by. Gerry Mototsune of Toronto and Peter Cameron ton, friends of the groom. Heather Keifer of Kimber- ley played the . guitar and sang "The Wedding Song" at the beginning ,of the cere- mony and "Watching the River Run" during the sign= ing of the register. A reception was held at the Rocklyn Hall. in 'summer ceremony Ashfield. Presbyterian Church was the setting for the marriage of Steven Mich- ael. Readman of Wingham and Dianne Marie Kerr of R. 3, Goderich on Saturday, August 8, 1981 at 6.30 p.m. Pink gladioli, white mums and white candies decorated the front of the church and frosty pink . and white bows marked the guest pews for the double ring ceremony, conducted by Rev. Hugh Nugent of Ripley. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Merele Kerr of R. 3,. : Goderich and the groom is; the son of Mrs Isobel Readman, .Wingham.; The bride, given in mar- riage by her parents, wore a long white gown of chiffon with full sleeves and fitted bodice of :Swiss dot organza. Appliqued lace and pears adorned the sweetheart neckline as . well • as the empire waist and . skirt. The skirt and train were trimmed around th'e edge with white lace. The bride wore a white picture hat trimmed with the Swiss dot organza and appli- qued lace and • pearls, the same as her dress. Her en- semble was completed by a pearl necklace and earrings, gifts of the groom. She car- ried a cascade bouquet of pink roses and stephanotis. Sandra Robb, friend of the, bride, R. 3, Goderich was maid of honour. She wore a long frosty pink dress of polyester with a matching shade of Swiss dot organza on thebodice. and . sleeves. She carried a white lace fan trimmed with a nosegay of pink roses and daisies with , pink and white streamers. Annette Drennan, friend. of the bride, R. 3, Lucknow. and Kathy Kerr, niece of the bride, Goderich, were brid- esmaids. They wore gowns similar to the maid of honour and carried fans trimmed with nosegays. Stan Stapleton, Mend of the groom, Walkerton was groomsman and Bob Darling of Hanover and Brad Hum- phrey of Lucknow, both friends of the groom, , were ushers. Organ music was provided by Lillian Simpson, including Until the Twelfth of Never and We've Only Just Begun. A reception followed at the Lucknow District Community Centre where the bride's mother received wearing a mauve polyester crepe .dress with a pleated skitt and a yellow orchid corsage. - The groom's mother wore a multi -shaded pink polyest- South Kinloss stijdeiits return to college By Ruth•Buehmeier Link Morrison and Randy of Refdale, Steve MacNay and Mary Kempton of Am- berley, Mr. and Mrs,., Gordon McQuillin of Sarnia and Mrs. Hicks of Kincardine were visitors with Mr, and, Mrs. Dick McQuillin and Ron. Margaret Maclntyre has returned to Hamilton to attend McMaster University for her third year in nursing. Visiting with Mary Mac- Intyre last week were Mr. and Mrs. Donald MacDonald of Nashville, Tennessee and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Porteous of Lucknow. Mr. and Mrs. Fraser Mac- Kinnon and Murray, Mrs. Jim Ritchie and Mrs, Mild- red Cameron attended the wedding :of their niece, Sus- an Wilson, on Saturday at Hamilton. They all stayed with Mrs, Jack Wilson, until 1. Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs, Ray Buch- meter visited in Toronto with Mr. and Mrs. Norm Le Clair and girls over Labour Day weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Taylor have returned from their holiday . west to Alberta, where they visited friends and rlelatives. Regular church services are held at South Kinloss again after havingjoint serv- ices for the summer months. Last. Sunday was the first service for both church and Sunday School. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Dwayne Piffer, nee Teresa Murray, who were married on Saturday at Kingsbridge church. The. couple will live at Cambridge where Dwayne is employed. Mr. and Mrs. John Murray and family of Harristonvisit- ed with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Haldenby over the weekend. Mark Haldenby has re- turned for his second year at Conestoga College where he is taking a Business Course. Mr. and Mrs. William Dickie and Krissa visited in Toronto on the weekend. The Board meeting for Maitland Presbyterial was held at South Kinloss Church on Monday afternoon. Many from this area at- tended the plays at Blyth but so many enjoyed "He Won't Come In From The Barn. Mso many from this I area attended the Open. House at Douglas Point at the Nuclear Plant on Sunday. Visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Needham were Mrs. Louise Reid of Corrunna and Mr. Cecil Levitt of Sarnia. Visiting: with Mr. and Mrs. Allan Graham, Anne and Allam is Mrs. Martha Mar- tin of Toronto. Mr. and Mrs. David Mac- Kinnon, Jennifer and Shane, Mr. and Mrs. Jim . MacKin- non of Guelph, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Frayne of Goderich and Murray MacKinnon took their parents. Mr. and Mrs. Fraser MacKinnon, out to dinner to the Bedford Hotel on Sunday, September 6 to celebrate their 35th wedding anniversary.. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Mac- Donald of Nashville, Tennes- see, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Bell of Sarnia, Mr. and Mrs. Wil- liam Porteous, Mary Macln- tyre and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Maclntyre were din- ner guests with Nancy Mac- Intyre and Olive Needham, On Sunday afternoon the Kinloss girls ball team play- ed ball against their fathers with the girls winning. Then all were invited back to Mr. and Mrs. Bill Haldenbys for aarbeque. This' ball team was . organized about four years ago with Jack Mali. being the coach. last year his wife, Doreen, woe the girls coach. A lot of credit goes to these two for organ- izing this team. This is their last year for coaching the girls and Jack and Doreen will be very much missed by all these girls. Mr. and Mrs. Ira Dickie and all their family were, at Hope Bay on Sunday, Sept- ember 6 and attended the "Come and Go Tea" in honour of Mr. and Mrs. Fart Dickie's 40th wedding anni- versary. Visitors on Sunday 'with Mr. and Mrs. Ira Dickie were Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Crow and Mrs. Oliver White of Wiarton. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Allan and Dwayne spent . Labour Day weekend visiting friends and relatives in Tor- onto and Acton area. Mr. and Mrs. Steve Moran visited in Toronto on the •holiday weekend. Thecouple have taken up residence in Wingham... Prior to her marriage the bride was feted at a shower held by thegroom's sister, Ruth Ann Steffen; aCantwell family reunion and shower; a girlfriend's shower held at the home of Lynne Mann; a community shower held at the Ashfield Presbyterian . Church and organized by Nora and Sandra Robb and Maxine Luther. A Kerr rela- tive shower was held at Nile United Church. A stag •and doe party was also held in Wingham hosted by mem- hers of the wedding party: Mary Maclntyre attended an executive meeting for Jamboree '83 recently. Plans are • already underway for Lucknow's 125th anniver- sary, the weekend of July let in 1983. The mailing list was discussed at the meeting and people are encouraged to submit names ofpeople to be invited to the Jamboree to Maudie Fisher, Lucknow. uron-Bruce Cnildren's Helpers hold rummage sale By Lorraine Meddle The Huron Bruce Children Helpers held a very success- ful rummage 'sale on Satur- day at the home of Mrs. Jack McGuire. The proceeds from these sales go to three over- seas adopted children. David and .Jana Black of Hamilton spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Walter Black and Jim. A large crowd attender the reception in Ripley for Mr. and Mrs. Tom Kempton (gee Pauline Lowry) on Saturday evening. Congratulation's to the happy couple. Attending university in Kitchener this year is Brian McGuire, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack McGuire.. He is taking a four year honours course in Business Adminis- tration at Wilfrid Laurier. Adrian Korten, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Korten is also taking the same course. Christopher McGuire, son of Mr. and Mrs, Ron Mc- Guire, began kindergarten this year and is enjoying it very much. Wendy Hamilton of Lon- don spent the weekend with her mother, Mrs. Blanche Hamilton. She was maid of honour at the wedding for Mr. and Mrs. Tom Kempton. Jim Black, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Black, who left at the end of May for a trip overseas to several count- ries, arrived home last week and reports having a very interesting trip. Congratulations to Nancy McGuire, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack McGuire, and Michael Moskal, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Moskai, of Waterloo, who were married on Friday evening, Septem- ber 4 in London.
