Township, on Sunday, August 23, arranged by Karen Ribey of Under- wood (daughter of Grant and Beth Wall of Wingham), and assisted by Elizabeth Wall of Toronto (daughter of Harry Wall of Lucknow). a ; There were 90 present, being descendants of John Wall and Fanny Scott. John Wall was the son of. Moses Wall and Ellen Green who emigrated to . Canada- from Tipperary, Ireland in 1836. Minutes of . the reunion held on June 24, .1973were read by Mrs. Verna Shewfelt of Kincardine. A. record of past reunions held was read by Karen Ribey. It was agreed that the reunions would be held every two years. Music` was then provided on the piano, guitar and violin by Gordon and David Wa11' and Rick and. Beryl .Wall. The priie for youngest baby, Christopher , George Howey,two month old son .of Marilyn and Bob Howey of Belmont; grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Wall of Lucknow. Most grandchild- ren, 43, went to Fanny McFarlane of Lucknow: Lorne Wall of Clinton de- lighted the guests by, playing several bagpipe selections. Mr., and Mrs. William Haldenby were. the oldest man and lady. . Elizabeth Wall. of Toronto travelled the farthest distance. Elizabeth then read and reported on progress of the family history and displayed the crest and pictures of the coat of Arms. She was ap pointed secretary of 1981 reunion, Further music selections were provided by Kenneth Wall and Byron Ballagh on the guitar. Gordon Wall then extended a vote of apprecia- tion: to Karen : Ribey and Elizabeth Wall for arranging. this happy occasion. Games and races were enjoyed and prizes won " by Billy, Shewfelt, Sammy Wall, Laurie Hewitt, Kim• Wall, Laurie Wall, Bevin Moir, Blair, Moir, . °Kim Ribey, Tim Woolcock and Jeffery Wall. As a finale, Piper Lorne led the guests in a march around the grounds and another reunion sadly came to a close. Guests attended from Kin- cardine, Mount Forest, Lon- don, Stratford, Wingham, Waterloo, Belmont,. Holy- rood, Teeswater, Hensall, Cargill, Tiverton and Clin- ton. Discuss advantages of breastfeeding The August meeting of Lucknow Nursing Mothers was held, at the home of Patti Gutscher, Teeswater. The ° topic for the evening . was, Should I breastfeed my baby?" Mother's shared their .feel- ings about nursing and dis- cussed the advantages of breastfeeding. One advan- tage of breastfeeding is that each mother's milk is espec- ially designed for her baby - all the nutrients are available in exactly the right .propor- tions and protection is avail- able from antibodies etc. to each infant from his own mother's. milk. As a 'result; breastfed babies have fewer colds, chestinfections, aller- gies etc. than bottlefed in- fants. 4 Many of the, ;myths regard- ing breastfeeding were also discussed and problem' areas were clarified: Jo -Anne Kirkland intro- duced Joan Post, a new mom from Holland. Mrs. Post had her first baby in Holland and shared with us her experi- ence of giving birth at home.. Nelson Winterstein has 90th birthday party A family gathering was held recently to celebrate the 94th birthday of Nelson Win- terstein at the home of his daughter. and . son-in-law, Ruth and John Pritchard. Mr. Winterstein, who is a resident of Cozy Cottage Nursing Home, enjoys very good health. He . has seven grandchildren ' and eight great grandchildren. Mem- bers of . the family were present from Barrhead, Al- berta, Claremont, Pickering and Creditan, Ontario. Mr. and. Mrs. W. A. Graham celebfated their 40th wedding anniversary with a holiday at the summer home of their daughter, Olive and her husband, Gary Gauthier and family. Their son, Lloyd and wife Dee Dee Graham and family were also present. On Friday evening a din- ner party was enjoyed. The family presented their par- ents with a week's holiday at Rock Terrace Gardens, Min- demoya. Art Tremaine of Sarnia died suddenly on Sunday, August 23. 1981. Mrs. Tre- maine ' is the former Louise Windsor, who resided with her uncle and aunt, Rei. and Mrs. Howes when Rev. Howes was pastor of the former Hackett Church on the 10th concession of Ash- field Township. Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Stanley, Luck - now, were Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Kaake and Cindy of Walkerton. Mr. Malcolm Stewart of Waterloo attended the 6001 -wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. James England on August 7. Mr. Stewart and Mrs. England are brother and sister. Mr. Stewart's name was inadvertently om- itted in the wedding anniver- sary cutline. It was inadvertently omit- ted from . the report of the MacDonald reunion that Charles McQuillan played the fife and Chester Ernnerton played drums.
