Took out the sidewalk
Last Wednesday and
Thursday, carpenter Ray
Fuller, ••village foreman Don
Peterbaugh,, and his
assistants worked at remov-
ing. the old sidewalk and set-
ting
etting up the forms for the new
concrete. It was poured' on
Thursday morning and it ex-
tends along Jessie ' Street
east from the Jean and Glen
Martin on the main street
corner, past the Ripley Post
Office and the Ralph Hunter
home to . the corner of
Melville Lane. The week end
rain held back long enough
to have the job finished. '
Passed away suddenly,
Last Wednesday ' evening,
August ` 26, Lewis Hlborn
died suddenly around supper
time at his home.. at
Gladstone and Tain. Streets
in the Southwest part of
Ripley. He was in his 72nd
year. The • funeral service
was held last Saturday after-
noon at the MacKenzie Mc-
•Creath Funeral. Home in
Ripley with Rev. Jim
Bushell of St. Andrews
United church in charge. In-
terment . ' was in Ripley
cemetery. He: isI survived by
his wife Dorothy. To her goes
the sympathy of Ripley folks
at this time of bereavement.

Mrs. Grace Murray home
and able to be out. She has
been a patient in Owen
Sound Hospital.

selection. each. Sandra's at-
tendants were Diane (Kerr)
Redmond, a close friend of
the bride-to-be and Lois Dar-
ling, sister of the groom -to -
be.
Sandra received many
lovely . and useful gifts, for.
which she thanked the ladies
very fittingly.
Lunch was served by the
ladies of the community. A
social time was enjoyed later
to end a very pleasant even-
ing. .

Obituary
Lyle Clifford Taman
Lyle Clifford Taman of
London, formerly of Blyth,
died at Victoria 'Hospital,
London on Friday, August
21, 1981, in his .40th year.
He was born in Clinton on
July 2, .1942. The late Mr.
Taman was employed with
the Safety, 'Security and Fire
Prevention Department of
Victoria Hospital, London.
Hewas the beloved son of
Margaret Taman, Blyth;
dear brother of Judy, Mrs.
Delmar Sproule of R. R. 3
Auburn and Rick of Tees -
water.
Predeceased by his father,
Wesley Taman,, and one ,
brother, Jim Taman.
The funeral service was,
held at the Tasker Funeral
Home' on. August .23 . with
Rev. C. Wittich officiating.
Pallbearers were Rick
Bressette, Paul: ("raiser, Don
Borton, Jack " Brown, Stan
Graham, Wayne Hazelwood:
