Women's Institute held their
P.R.O. .meeting on Thurs-
day, August 20 at 8 p.m. at
the home of Mrs. Frank
MacKenzie. The president,
Mrs. Harold Howald, wel-
comed all to the meeting and
gave a reading. The secret-
ary -treasurer, ,.Mrs. Donald
Maclntyre, read the minutes
and correspondence.
Mrs. Allan Mac-
Dougall
gave a . summary of
the catering done at the Craft
Festival. Mrs. Farish Moffat
reported -on the day spent at
the Bruce County Museum
when. she, Mrs. Harold How-
ald, Mrs. Brian Doelman,
and Mrs. Cliff Roulston were
hostesses at the log cabin.

ported on the Lucknow Fall
Fair display. It was decided.
to leave the Institute direc-
tors in charge of the 'names to
be sent in for the.. Tartan,
Awards.
Mrs. Clarence Ritchie and
Mrs. Jack Mali will be ,the
leaders for the next 4-H club,
"Which Came First, the
Chicken or the Egg Mrs.,”
Cliff. Roul-ston gave out the
books tocanvass for the
Arthritic 'Society. Mrs. Far-
ish Moffat'suggested that the
Resolutions Convener look
into the possibility of the
W.I. promoting better light-
ing at, different major inter-
sections in our area. As one
example she cited highways

Clifford Young last Monday
were ' Mrs. Fanny Wraith,
Mrs. Ethel Holmes of Wing -
ham and ' Mr. and Mrs.
Vernon Coblentz of Greens-
burg, Indiana.
Marlene Mann of Alberta
is spending holidays with her
parents, Mr: and Mrs. Bob
Mann and all attended . the
Sande-Baks wedding on Sat-
urday in Teeswater.
Mr. and Mrs. Russell
Young and Mrs. Clifford
Young visited with Mr. and
Mrs. Len Coughlin and fam-
ily Friday evening.
Sympathy of the .commun-
ity is extended to rel itives of
Mrs. Mamie Donaldson, who
passed away on Thursday in
Walkerton Hospital, in her
84th year. Mrs: Donaldson.
was the former Mamie Mof-
fat and was raised at Lang-
side. After her marriage' to
Bob Donaldson, they farmed
and raised their .family at
Langside until 'they retired to
Teeswater. After the death of
her husband, Mamie became
a resident ' of the nursing
home in Walkerton.
On Saturday evening Mrs:
Ethel :Holmes of Wingharn
entertained relatives ` and
friends at the Odd Fellows
Hall in Wingham. The first
part of the evening was spent
playing euchre and Jean
Currie and Alice Newton won
the prizes. Ethel then show-
ed slides of ' trips she had
taken and local pictures of
relatives and friends: Later a
bounteous lunch was served.

sons, Ryan and Dale, have
returned to their home in
Cochrane. Alberta after
spending two weeks holidays
with Brian's parents, Joe and
Teresa Courtney, Eric, ' Floyd
and Carl, of Kingsbridge,
and with Gary and Chris
Courtney and son, Michael,
of Myth:, While here .they
also -visited with the many
relatives and friends in this
area.

the Branch meetings. She
suggested .thatthe members
stand eto answer the roll call
and that it should be answer-
ed by more' than one word. If
it is worth answering, it • is
worth 1 standing 'for. Mrs.
Evan Keith thanked Mrs.
,MacAdam and presented her
with a gift.
Mrs. Sheilla Clarke con-
ducted an interesting and ed-
ucational spelling match un-
der the heading's Public Rela-
tions Officer. Mrs. Ritchie

heart seizure. She returned
