Florence MacLennan of Kincardine and her mother, Mrs. Emile MacLennan were in Zurich. one day last Week. / Florence MacLennan is back to work at the • Kincar- dine General Hospital after. breaking a bone in her finger playing baseball 'earlier this summer. .In 'Goderich on Saturday, your correspondent and son, Jim Webster, of Waterloo (Jim was ' driving his dad's car) and aunt, Mrs. Norma Young of Goderich were side-swiped by a' young lad. from Blyth._ Jim has a broken bone in his foot and neck injuries. For this he is taking treatments` for ;-the next six weeks. There were no other injuries. Jim is off work now for six weeks, Mr. and Mrs. John Balch of Toronto visited with • Mrs. Dorothy Finlayson and Ken-' nie for a few days. Kennie returned with them for a short visit. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Kempton and Mary have a girl from Texas, Martha Phillipps staying vith them on a Ripley studentexchange. program. Martha is. Mary's guest for two weeks. Mary Kempton went to Texas last year on the same program and was a guest of Martha's:. for two weeks. - Mr. and - Mrs. Ross MacKenzie:. and Mr. and Mrs.. Fraser MacKinnon, have returned home after a three week vacation; in the west. They 'visited with Ross and Jean's four sons, Brad, Scott, Danny and Kevin in / Calgary. They also . visited with relatives in Grand Prairie, Albertaand were in .Vancouver, British Colum- bia to see the Pacific Ocean for the first . time. Kevin MacKenzie returned home •viththem. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wilkens have had .a few visitors this week. On ;Mon- daythere. was Mrs. Calvin Irwin, David and Trudy 'Ir- win . and ' their two ,sons, Tracy and Carrie Irwin of. Oshawa, also Mrs. Wilken's . mother and brother, Mr. and Mrs. Irwin and Lloyd Irwin of Kinloss. On Wednesday along came another nephew, wife and family, Ivan and Janet Irwin and 'two sons Brian and Shawn of Oshawa., They are camping on .the front lawn for a few days. On Thursday Mr. Wilken's sister and brother-in-law, Louise and Ked' Weaver of Sudbury visited with. them too. Emile MacLennan had her, brother and sister-in-law, Harold an .Peggy Jardine of • Varriston visiting with her the other day. • Margaret McLeod visited with George Finlayson .in Host pig roast on the weekend $Y Marie Park Randy and Judy. Kerr hosted' a pig roast on , Saturday night for friends and neighbours and conn-' inyittee members from last summer's anniversary Randy and Delmar `Sprout donated a pig apiece and the ladies brought salads and rolls. Mrs. Frank Glenn has been a patient in Wingharn hospital for the past three Weeks with sores an her ankle which are very slow to heal, Also in Whighamn. hospital is Mel Jones with a cracked knee cap injured in a fall recently. The knee is in a cast. Congratulations to Ken and Sandra (Errington) Davidson of Wallacebu rg on the birth of their. son, Mat- thew James on July 7. A brother for Scat and Lowe. Mr, and •Mra. Fred Stirling, Darlene and Harold of Thainesville spent, the weekend with Mrs. Elsie Irvin. On Sunday they ate tended a family gathering at Mr. and Mrs, Jim Smiths at Molesworth. Mrs. Lynn Wall and family returned after a week's holidays spent with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Emerson at Queerrsville. Torn retarded with them from Toronto after spending three weeks in Algonquin Park camping and canoeing. Matthew and Andrew Ott of Kitchener are spending two weeks with their - grandparents, Irvine and Colleen Eedy. Wif Pentland has been a patient in Winghami Hospital since Wednesday of last week. He did not have ' a heart attack as first suspected. carpenters and builders are busy in .Dungannon with. the fire insurance building and Wayne Snyder's house on Joseph Street both taking shape. Mr.. and Mr• s. Dwight Aldham, John, Greg and. Larissa of Inglewood visited on the weekend with Mrs, Mary Bete and Mr. and Mrs. John Stanbury and:Jason. Tom Park and Michelle Good spent the weekend in Toronto with Ed and Lori Godfrey. While there they visited Wonderland and the Toronto Zoo. Bob Haywood of Crediton conducted . Sunday services at the United Churches at Nile and Dungannon. He also sang three beautiful hymns" accompanying himself on his concertina accordion. Next Sunday's service will bt, taken by Ken Petrie of Kincardine, assisted by his daughter, .Kathy, who has been attending the Moodie Bible Institute in Chicago. A , family gathering was held on Sunday at the home of Mrr and Mrsr Jack Smith, Home for the occasion were Turn to page 13 . a n , .airw . On Thursday the three guest students in Lucknow, from Finland, :Minnesota and German, and their hosts, along with Martha and her hostess had a picnic at the lake. It was very much enjoyed by all. There did not seem to be any language barrier. `Dan Wylds, who makes his home with his son and daughter-in-law, ' Mr. and Mrs. Warren ,Wylds, had a small gathering to celebrate his 95th birthday. Those at- tending were his brother and sister-in-law, Allan and Mar- jorie Wylds of Toronto, his daughter-in-law, Mrs. Jean Wyldsof Kincardine and his, daughter' and friend, Doris Wylds: and Ruth Sweet of Toronto. Five -week-old Catherine Brunnette from Windsor was the youngest member pre- sent. Jennifer Ullrick of London danced Scottish dances. Several of the younger group sang.
