Warren McDougall performed the double ring ceremony. Mauve satin " bows with yellow silk roses marked the guest t pews, • . The bride's great aunt, Edith Webster of Lucknow, and her son, George Webster of Ottawa greeted guests at the church prior to the cere- mony. Parents of thebride are Mr. and Mrs. William Bolt of Lucknow. The groom'a,'par- ents are Mr, and Mrs. Mehdi Rais•Pirouz'of Tehran, Iran. The bride,. given •in mar- riage • by her father, chose a formal floor length gown of silk organza with long sleev- es, ahigh neckline and lace trim. The full cathedral train fell from ` the waist.. Her finger-tip double tier illusion veiling was held in place with a headband of white silk roses. She carried a bouquet of white carnations and yel- low roses.. Suzanne. Reunion held at Clandonald home The Clandonald Reunion was helm Saturday, July 11, 1981 hosted by Mrs. Joan Deleuze and Mr. and Mrs. 'John MacDonald and family at their Clandonald home. After enjoying a good visit with clan members and the sports program, a . bountiful smorgasbord meal was en- joyed under' the trees. on the lawn. President, Scott Werle and secretary treasurer, Alix Werle presided for the busi- ness meeting. A minute's silence was observed for Dr. Anna Nich- olson Wright and Mr, Fred Bromley, who had passed away during the year. The president .welcomed Dr. and Mrs. Gordon Stone - of Wisconsin to the reunion. Dr. Stone's grandmother was a MacDonald and his mother was born on the 4th conces- sion. Clan diplomas were pres- ented to Nancy Maclntyre, who had achieved her B.A. degree and to Rev. Alex MacDonald for receiving his D. Min. degree. The minutes of last year's reunion were read and ap- proved, Following the tradition set by his father, Ross L. Mac- Donald, John MacDonald presented silver dollars to all children present under 16 years. The 'date set for next year's reunion was July 10, 1982., Bruce and Charlotte Burkhart were nominated and' electedpresident and secretary foal the coming year. Dr. Stone expressed his pleasure at being able to attend. Mr. and Mrs. Bud Middleton of Torontis were at the reunion. (Bud's mother was MinnieMacDonald, sis- ter of Hannah and Kenny, and his father was a brother of Russ Middleton).: Mrs. Middleton has researched. four family trees and was able to provide the Stones with interesting family hist- ory. John . MacDonald spoke briefly welcoming all to Clandonald. The executive was thanked on a motion of Mary Maclntyre and Alex MacDonald. Although the gathering was smaller than usual, a good time was had by all. Hold 33rd Hackett reunion The 33rd Hackett Reunion was held on Sunday, July 12 in the Ashfield Park with 54 in attendance. J, C. Drennan prepared the barbecue and all enjoyed a bountiful meal at 1 p.m, D. A. Hackett was the chairman and Allene Bradley secretary. Followingthe meal a business period fol- lowed and the committee for 1982 are: president, D. A. Hackett; vice president, Alex Hackett; secretary treasurer, - Mrs. Vernon Hunter; find cornntittee,, Mr. and Mrs, Morgan Johnston, and Mr. and . Mrs. Ken Laidlaw; sports, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Hackett. Mr, and Mrs. George Hackett had an enjoyable program of . sports for all ages. Following a peanut scramble some went to enjoy a swim, others a ball game, while" the rest had a visit in the shade. There they rented a car and toured Nova • Scotia and Prince Edward Island, Mr. and Mrs. Allan Mac- Dougall, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd MacDougall, and Mrs. Jim Dollery of Bayfield attended the wedding of Verna Farris!) on Friday evening at Kit- chener. Verna is the "deuight er of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Parrish . of Ashfield Town- Maretta MacDougall spent last week holidaying with her cousins, Audrey and. Jamie Dollery of Bayfield. Ian MacGillivray of Goder- ich is 'spending some holi- days with Mr. and Mrs. Ray Buchmeier and Carol. Mr. and Mrs. David Mac- Kinnon spent the weekend at Niagara Falls which they really, enjoyed. Visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Leo Murray on the weekend were their refugee family who stayed with them as year.
