A Dungannon native was seriously injured
in a traffic mishap 'in Midland Saturday
evening.
Steve Caesar, of Lindsay, 26ear-old-son
it
of Jack and Gwen Caesar of Dunnnon, was
injured in the accident which occ rred)about
11 p.m. Saturday.
Caesar was taken to a Midland hospital
and then airlifted to University Hospital in
London on Tuesday.

A ,Lucknow teenager is in. Wingham and
District Hospital following a two car collision
Sunday night on concession 2 in Kinloss
Township. ,
Kent Alton, 16, of Lucknow, received major
burns when 'his car was struck from behind
and exploded into flames.
A passenger in the Alton car, Cheryl •
MacDonald, was treated at hospital and
released.
The driver of the second car, Michael
Thielmann, 26, of Kincardine and his
passengers, Kim Sanderson and Sherry
Carter both of Lucknow, were also treated
at Wingham hospital and released.
The Alton car was parked on the road just
west of South Kinloss church when the
Thielmann vehicle came over the crest of a
hill at a high rate of speed. Thielmann
avoided hitting several people stading in
the middle of the road and crashed 1b, the
rear end of the Alton car. •
Both cars exploded in flames on impact.
The Alton car travelled down the road and
into the north ditch where it struck a hydro
• pole and the Thielmann car ended up in the
south ditch against a tree.
Lucknow District Fire Department were
'called to the scene. All of the passengers had
been pulled from the cars before they
arrived. Kincardine detachment of the
Ontario Provincial Police are continuing
• their investigation.

Child on bicycle
struck by car
An Ashileld Township child was injured
when the bicycle he was riding was struck by
a car on 'Thursday afternoon.
Jeffrey Burroughs, 9, son of Don and
Marilyn Tebow of Ashfield Township receiv-
ed head and leg injuries and, is a patient
in Godetich Marine and General Hospital.
The accident occurred at the corner of
concession 6 and 1 and the division line
about 1 pan. Thursday, The driver of the
car, Gordon West, 20, was not injured.
In a separate incidint, a car driven by
Wayne Park, 20, Dungannon, left Huron
County Road 1, 2.2 • kilometres south of
Lucknow about 6 p.m. Saturday. A pas-
senger in the Park vehicle, Wayne Nichol-
son, 16, Dungannon received minor injuries.
• The accident occurred' when the Park
vehicle attempted to overtake another car
and veered. off the road into the east ditch
where it struck a culvert and fence.
• Goderich detachment of the Ontario
Provincial Police investigated both occur-
rences.

time in compeddmi since .the tractor was rebuilt this spring with

• Lucknow's Second Choice with Art Helm
at the wheel took two firsts at the Lucknow
Tractor Pull held on the weekend.
The firsts were achieved in tko exciting
pull -offs in the 9,000 and Open modified
classes on Sunday afternoon• .
In the 9,000 modified class Second
Choice pulled off against Les Grodi of
Munro, Michigan and his six engine
• traCtor, "The Grog". Second Choice took
first with a margin of 2% ft.
Art pulled off against E J. Potter of
Ithaca, Michigan in the open modified
class. Second Choice edged Pottees W-24
• Allison, "Double Ugly' by 24 feet.
The wins are especially • gratifying
because the tractor was, rebuilt during the
spring and is perforniing with a new
Allison aircraft engine.
Barb Helm drove the tractor to a seventh
place finish in the 7,000 cla'ss, her first time
in competition since the tractor wits -rebuilt.
Unfortunately area fans did not get a
chance to see the "new" Noisy Lady at the
pull. The pulling team of Art Helm and
Glen Porter are. rebuilding The Lady
adding a second turbo charged Chevy
engine but she was not ready to compete
on the weekend.•
Approximately 5,000 fans attended the
two day event held at the Lucknow Tractor
Pulling Park. More than 100 pullers
competed in mini, tnodified, super stock, 4
wheel drive farm stock tractor classes, and
a 10 wheel semi truck class. Standings will
appear in next week's' Sentinel.
