. She has found the disappearance of
Ambrose 'Small to make 'a wonderful story
• with fascinating details'.. She explains that
• he owned a chain • of theatres Including the
Grand in Toronto and the 'Grand in London •
which stili stands. In 1919 he signed his
, :theatres over for S1 million and $700,000
over the next five years ; had 'a celebration
with his wife, went to his office and disap-
.peared.
There are Many theories about his
disappearance: Some say he left to start a
new life somewhere else. His body was
never found -and there were thousands of
• reports of him being seen all over the world.
Others say he. was murdered. He had
many enemies capable of doing so and Many
people claim to have seen him as a ghost at
the Grand in London. -
Bolt says she hopes to leave people
wondering at the end Ninety per cent of the
events in the play are factual but , the time
"has been collapsed from several years to two
months,she explains. •
Besides being a thriller and a ghost story,
ihe play is about -character and also reveals
something of the Orange -Catholic conflict
present in Toronto at the time of Satan's
disappearance. •
Love or Money reunites several elements
that made another Blyth thriller,. I'll Be Back
For You Before Midnight, such a success. It
is directed by the same man, Keith Batten.
And Diana Belshaw and 'Anne Anglin who
appeared in the 19110 version of Midnight
also star in LoVe or. Money. The cast is
