Rev. and Mrs. John Bell
left on Sunday after church
for their .son, Mr. and Mrs.
Bert Fontaine's, Streetsville,
Where they will visit until
Wednesday when they go by
plane to Edmonton to attend
their daughter's wedding.
They will enjoy a month's
holiday, returning the end of
July.
On. Saturday evening a
baseball game was held on
the Whitechurch diamond
between the Oldthners and
team of today with Angus
Falconer umpiring. A large
crowd had gathered but rain
caused the game to halt
when the score was 10 - 0 in
favour of the oldtimers. Mr.
and Mrs. Alex Craig. invited
them to come to their home
where around 60 gathered. A
barbeque followed on their
patio. Many are looking for -

Mr. and Mrs. Dan Tiffin of
Wingham and attended the
Saturday evening ball game
at Whitechurch.
Mr. and Mrs. Victor Emer-
son recently received a letter
from Lynda Moore, who lived
at the restaurant now owned
by Mr, and Mrs. Shack,
when in Whitechurch. She is
now at Bops, C.F.B., Tor-
onto, Downsview.

and Mr. and Mrs. Kevin
Falconer of Blyth were Sun-
day guests for Father's Day
with Mr. and Mrs. Archie

Goderich visited Sunday with
her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Elroy Laidlaw.

rows left last Monday on a
five day tourist trip with Mrs.

trip included Agawa,Canyon,
St. Ignace, Mackinac
Island, where there, are no
, motor vehicles and the Fran-
kenmuth festival in Michi-
gan. " They went by way of
• northern Ontario, crossing
on the Chi-Cheemaun. The I
weather was cold and foggy
and they could not remain on
deck for the trip. They re-
turned home by Sarnia.
Janet Laidlaw accompan-
ied Mrs. Don Bell and Bev-
erley to Wonderland on Sun-
day.
On. Sunday the Laullaws
held .a family picnic at the
Wingham River Park where
around 25 gathered.. Present
were Mr. and Mrs. Ken
Laidlaw, Mr. and Mrs. Elroy
Laidlaw and Mrs. Joe Du-
chartne, Mr. and Mrs. Cliff
Laidlaw, Mr. and Mrs. Ray-
mond Laidlaw, Jim and
Greg, Mrs. Luella Kerr, Mr.
and Mrs. Ivan Laidlaw and
Kim, Mr. and Mrs. Fred
Moore, Curtis, Mark, Blaine
• and Ruth, Miss Annie Laid-
law, Charles Falconer, Mary
Falconer, and friend, Rich-
ard Layman. Most of the
folks were from tbCr immedi-
ate vicinity: MI enjoyed the
afternoon visiting among the
group. To close, a pot luck
lunch was held.
