Mrs. Raynard Ackert was
convener for the program
commencing with a sing
along with Mrs. H. Houston
at the piano. -
Mrs. Glen Walden con-
ducted the devotions opening
with a prayer. Her Bible
meditation was on the first
citizens d of the Garden of
Eden and their responsibil-
ity. She pointed out Steward-
ship to God and our respon-
sibility to the earth and its
people. She closed with
prayer.
Five ladies, Mrs. H. Hous-
ton, Mrs. E. Cardis, Mrs. E.

Henderson, Mrs. Wm.
Campbell and Miss H.
Thompson favoured with two
vocal numbers, God Will
Take Care of You, and,
Showers of Blessings. Mrs.
Wes Ritchie was pianist.
Mrs. Peter Cook read a
poem, Beautiful Lilacs, and a
meditation on Tranquility.
Mrs. Wm. Campbell con-

introduced the speaker, Mrs.
T. McQuail, the Lucknow
librarian, who outlined the
library's beginnings to the
present day. She most capab-
ly told of the services offered
to the public. In 1967 the
library joined the Bruce
County Regional System,
compOsing 20 branches.
There are 10,000 books
available at no charge fOr

users, ranging from picture
bOoks for small tots on up to
fiction, non fiction, science,
etc, for all ages. There are
many paper backs, magazin-
es, .and cassettes available,
with 1,000 books in this form.
Also several hundred books
in 17 languages. A special
mail box library for handi-
capped persons is fhandled
from Port Elgin.
Some special features are
A Story Hour, Mondays from
1 - 2 for children aged 3 - 6
years old; adult programs
several times a •year, featur-
ing cultural and educational
artists, financed by the Geor-
gian Bay Regional Library
• System. Film programs, suit:-
able for families, are •held
during the winter months.
A projector, donated by
the Kinettes, is available for
groups with the choice of
1000 films. There is to bea
film shown, on Energy Con-
servation July 3. The library
is open Mondays, Wednes
days and Fridays from 2 - 5
and 7 - 9. Mrs. McQuail wfis

met in the Kingsbridge ves-
try for their June 1st meet-
• ing. The meeting opened
with the league prayer, fol-
• lowed by a scripture reading
given by Mrs. Leona Hickey.
The minutes of the previous
meeting were read and ad-
opted. There was no corres-
pondence to be read this
meeting. The financial report
was read and apProved.
Father Ed Dentinger told
of the CWL Pilgrimage to be
• held July 13 at St. Mary's.
Father also spoke briefly
about the Ashfield Parish
picnic to be held on July 19 at
the Ashfield Park. Cemetery
Day .will be held at,St.
Augustine, July 19. A" fall
combined meeting was also
discussed as a possibility in
the future. First Communion
takes place at St. Augustine,
June 7 with eight children
from the three parishes to

Home on June 17. The yearly
membership drive As in ac-
tion again, with eighteen
members to date.
Mrs. Marg Glavin spoke
about the Town and Country
Homemakers of Wingham
and the possibility of giving
them a donation. A motion to
give a donation was carried.
The meeting was 'then ad-
journed to the Kingsbridge
Church basement to join the
other two parishes.
Father spoke again briefly
on' the Pilgrimage, the Ash-
field Picnic, and the Fall joint
meeting. A, vote was taken
and a fall Meeting will be
held in the form of a pot luck
dinner on October 5 in King-
sbridge.
