opened the meeting with a
poem, Maytime and conduct-
ed the business. The roll call,

Mrs. Vernon Hunter, on
cards sent. Mrs, Gordon
Morrison had a good re-
sponse for food for social
functions., The . work shop

Mother and Daughter ban-
quet June 3. Mrs. Cliff
• Menary reported for stew-
ardship, Life is a Gift. Mrs.
Eva freeman collected knit-
ted articles and handy bags
for shut ins. A presentation
to patients at Pinecrest is to
be early in June. Donations
of toys for the church nursery
would be welcomed.
Mrs. Glen Walden. con-
vened the program and read
a poem, Sprhkgtime. Mrs.
Rice read the scripture. She
sang a lovely solo, Have
Thine Own Way Lord. Mrs.
Wm. Humphrey gave the
meditation, Whatmakes a

In the afternoon, of May, 5 ,
the United Church Women,
• Unit 2, of Lucknow met at the •
home of - Mrs. Peter took
with an attendance of 17 and
one visitor. On a showery
afternoon, a happy and
• friendly group made for a

Mrs. Cook welcomed ev-

portion of the meeing.
The devotional part of the
meeting was chaired by Mrs.
Mamie Henderson, The
theme being, Mothers, she
read the poem entitled, The
Mother's Watch. The scrip-.
tore lesson was read by Miss
Lorna Campbell.
The meditation was given
by Miss Helen Thompson. In
keeping with the theme, she
chose Hannah, the Mother of
Samuel, to emphasize
"Motherhood". Mrs. Ellen
Cardis led in prayer, follow-
ed with a beautiful musical
number by Mrs. Ritchie
• entitled, Mother. The study
portion was taken by Mrs.
Gertle Treleaven, speaking
on India, where her daughter
Ruth and husband have been
sent. It proved most interest-
ing. Two musical numbers
were sung, •entitled, My
Mother's Prayer by Mrs-
Marnie Henderson, Mrs. El.
len Cardis, Miss Helen
Thompson and ' Mrs. Bill
Catnpbell. •
A very successful hobby
sale was held with Mrs. Bill.
Campbell as auctioneer.
A dainty lunch was served
by the committee in charge
and a social hour enjoyed.
