Kinloss-Kairshea Wom-
en's Institute held their
annual meeting on April 16
at 11.00 a.m. at the home of
the president, Mrs. Allan
MacDougall. •She welcomed
all -and opened the meeting
with a poem on Easter.
Mrs. Harold Howald read
the scripture. The secretary -
treasurer read invitation to
the W.I. meeting at Holyrood
on May 14 and Brucelea
Haven Tea and bake sale in
Walkerton on April 30. Mrs.
Harold Howald was named
as the 1983 Lucknow Reunion
• committee member.
Delegates to the district
•annual to be held in Ripley
United Church on May 19 are
Mrs. Harold Howald, Mrs.
Allan MacDougall, • Mrs.
Leonard Clarke , and Mrs.
Farish Moffat. Kairshea is to
look after the devotions.

The Lucknow Women's In-
• stitute held their annual
• meeting on April 14, and 25
ladies sat down to a delicious
pot luck dinner.
The president, Mrs. Stuart
MacGillivray, conducted the
business. •
• Invitations were received
from the Holyrood Institute
• to attend their May .14
meeting and the tea at
Brucelea Haven, Walkerton
on April 30.
• A thank you letter from ,the
Lucknow Agricultural Society
to the Institute for their 1980
donation Was read and asked
for a 1981 donation which
• was passed. A donation was
als9 given to' Brucelea Hav-
en, Walkerton. '
Miss Edna McDonald and
Mrs. Wm. J. Campbell were
appointed delegates to at-
tend the district annual
meeting in Ripley on. May 19.
A report of the District
Directors meeting held in
Lucknow was given by Mrs.
Armstrong Wilson.
Mrs. Armstrong Wilson
and Mrs. Wilbur Brown were
appointed to be on the com-
mittee for the Institute bus
trip in June. The minutes of
the 1980 annual meeting
were 'read and the reports
from the treasurer and the
different standing, commit-
tees were given.
Mrs. P. S. Stewart then
took charge for the installa-
tion of of the new slate of
telep
for the 1982 District Annual.
Mrs. Evan Keith gave a
full report- on, .the District
Directors meeting held in
Lucknow on March 24. She
informed the ladies of the
new Bruce County •Tartan
serviettes and it was decided
to order two cases of• 24
leers
officers for 1981-1982 which
was given by Mrs. Graydon

The annual meeting was
conducted with the different
reports being given. The sec-
• retary-treasnrer reported
that four ladies had perfect
attendance at the eleven
• meetings held plusthe bus
trip in July and each received
a small gift.

Auxiliary holds
rummage sale
The Wingham and District
Hospital. Ladies Auxiliary
held its spring rummage sale
raising $1836.58 to date.
The "sale attracted" large
crowds from the surrounding
• areas to the Wingham Arm-
ouries on Friday.' April 10.
The •sale featured a large •
variety of articles including
ladies. and men's clothing.
china, furniture, shoes.
books and toys.•
The Auxiliary members re-
ported that $443.96 worth of
ladies clothing was sold,
together with $141.80 of
miscellaneous ladies articles.
$157.00 of men's and miscel-
laneous .goods. •$159.76
worth of shoes. $75.19 hats
and, purses. $95.97 of books
and toys, $239.66 worth: of
china, $283.94 of children's
• clothing, $136.55 of bedding ,
and draperies and $102.50 of
furniture.

on winning team

Bob MacKenzie of Toronto
and Danny MacKenzie of
London spent the weekend
with their parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Ross MacKenzie.
Jim Webster was home on
the weekend with his par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Welling-
ton Webster.
Donna and Bill Arnold
have bought the farm of Mr.
and Mrs. Oliver' Mcehailes,
and have taken up residence
there.
Mrs. George Moncrief was
in Giielph April 8 at a
seminar at. St. a Joseph's
Hospital, entitled, Tharmac-
°logical Up Date.
Dorothy, Finlayson. Joyce
Elphick and Florence Mac-
Kenzie all won trophies at
the bowling league banquet
Monday, April 13. Dorothy
won a team trophy and
'another for the most'improv-
ed of the Junior Bowlers.
Joyce and Florence both
played on the same team
(Oranges) winning a team
trophy. Good luck, girls.
Edna Cook of Owen Sound
visited with Mr. and Mrs.
Jim MacKenzie and family
on Thursday.
• Farewell Party
On Tuesday evening of last
week 24 neighbours and
friends of Lochalsh area
called at the' home of Mr. and
Mrs. Oliver McCharles in
Kincardine to present them
'with "going away presents
from this area.
The evening was spent
• socializing. Bob McIntosh
read a. poem about their new
home. Ewan MacLean read a
very fitting speach on being
neighbourly, saying that
Marion and Oliver never
picked or chose and were
always one of the first to call
on a new neighbour in the
vicinity. They were present-
ed with a brass, wood basket
for the fireplace and a lovely
kitchen clock. 'Marion and
Oliver thanked them all very
mai for their thankfullness.
A very 'bountiful lunch was
• served by the ladies.
Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Mc -
Charles appreciated every-
thing so very much. The
thoughtfulness is just over-
whelming., they said. Mrs.
McCharles was not feeling
too .well on the weekend but
hope she will be Al soon.
