very seriously injured in a
motorcyclemishap ' on a
sideroad in Ashfield, late
Sunday afternoon, He was
driving , the motorcyclewhen
it flipped aver. He was
rushed to the Lucknow Med-
ical Centre and then to
Wingham Hospital where he
was rushed to University
Hospital, London by ambu-
lance, He is a son of Reis and
Marie Miltenburg, The Pray-
ers
rayersand thoughts of the
community are . extended to
Maurice and his family at'
this time.
At the card party held in
the Parish Hall last week,
high winners were Father Ed
Dentinger and Rita Howard
with consolation prizes going..
to Dennis Dalton and Mia
Dalton. John Austin won the
door prize and a Shamrock
plant donated . by, Brother
Carl Voll was won. by Loretta
Doherty. These card parties
are . still continuing every
Wednesday evening and all
ages are welcome.
The community' extends
their deepest sympathy to,
the family of the late Mrs.
Maria Austin who passed.
away in Scarborough in her
89th year. Up until a few
years ago she resided in
Kingsbridge in the home
now owned bytl Vincent and
Idell . Austin. She was still a
member of St. Joseph's
C.W.L.. Kingsbridge: Her
funeral. Mass washeld at St.
Joseph's on Monday, March
23 with interment later in St.
Joseph's Cemetery, Kings-
bridge.
Private David Van Osch of
Petawawa, Ontario spent a
week's vacation with hisar-
ents, Pete and Betty Van
Osch and brothers and sist-
ers.

ninth concession of Ashfield
on Saturday, March 21. They
purchased the house which is
situated on farm land they
own, from Jon and Jan
Zdybel and family, who are
temporartty timing in ' the
Hogan .house on the 12th
concession,
Mrs, Clarice Dalton visited
during the past week with
John and Lorainne Dietrich . .
and family of . Mississauga.
Shawo Dalton returned
home from Calgary, Alberta
last week where he had spent
the winter months,

sauga spent the weekend at
their home here.
A meeting was held at the
home of Ben and Marianne
VanDiepenbeek on Sunday
afternoon to discuss setting
up Cubs and goy .Shut

meeting, with about ' 20
people attending. Several
area young men showed an
interest in assisting with the
programs, so the future for
these clubs is very ,promis-
ing, A Beavers pack for the
little boys has been operating
successfully since the fall,

The March SWOSDA
dance was held on Saturday,
March .28 ' .at' Brookside
School, hosted by' Lucknow
Huron -Bruce Swingers Club.
SWOSDA . is South West-
ern Ontario Square Dance
Association, and . the last
Saturday of each month a
dance is held when members
of clubs throughout the reg-
ion get together for'an after-
noon and evening of dancing.
There were 12 clubs repres-
ented in the afternoon and
more dncers..came in . the
evening,
The host caller for the
event was Glenn Patterson,
with five visiting callers,
calling ' at intervals. - The
round dancing club members •
also enjoyed dancing to four
callers throughout the day.
An executive business
meeting, was held':;from.S.00
,to 5.45 p.m. followed by the
supper hour to 7 p.m.
The president of SWOS-
DA. Eric Steward, Sarnia
stated this had been a very
successful SWOSDA and
commented . on the good at-
tendance
and the clean and
convenient place where it
was held, The April dance
will be held in Woodstock,
April 25 when the election of
officers for the coming year
will be. held, '
The clubs. discontinue

summer months, but spedat
dances are held by many
Clubs throughout the sum-
