Lucknow and Dresden Met in
the "C" championship final
on •Saturday, with Dresden
coming Out ahead 4.3.
The head exchanged hands
several times as both teams
fought to gain an advantage.
Dresen jumped out to an
early, 2 0 lead in the first
period as Dave Brunn and
Quinn O'Donahue both
cored unassisted, stealing
e puck away neatly . from
e Lucknow team. -
Then: Lucknow slowly
retaliated scoring three
ma
goals in each of the three
periods to take a 3.2 lead.
Donnie McFarlane : made
° the score 2. 1 at the 6:22
mark of the . first when he
stole the puck from the
Dresden defence, faked the
goalie, and shovelled the
puck in the net.
Then, at 3:29 of the second;
Chris Owen scored the first
of two goals when he
knocked in a rebound.
Irwin scored again at the
3:56 rnark of the third when
he caught Dresden goalie,
Darren Holmes; by surprise.
But Holmes bore clown and
didn't. allow any more
scored by Dresden with only 1.12 minttms left on the. Block.
Action here around the Lueknow net shows' the fine form of
goalie Dean Lindsay against a Dresden attacker. '

In the 32nd'Young .Canada
Week, the Pee' Wees met
Clinton, Point Edward, Park.
hill and Dresden. '
After a close 2. 1 was over
Clinton on a late sbort.hand-
ed goal, the boys met Point
Edward, the team that put
them out•of the running last
year, and skated to an easy 6
1 victory.
in the fastest game of their
group, against Parkhill, the-
teatn's defenses had to stand
the test .of speedy •forwards
and good passing in the early
going.. The boys were able to
turn the game around with
constant effort and positional
play, especially in the second
period. The final score was 5'
3 and a trip to the champ.

In -the final game, Dresden
scored two first period goals
but Lucknow worked their
way back, out ,skating and
out shooting Dresden in the
second period. Pard work
paid off with three straight
gals and the lead fora short
time in the third period. •
However, Dresden tied the
score about the ten minute
mark of the third and, after a
wide open period, took the
lead with 1.12 left on the
clock. Six • attackers overt
unable to tie the' score. and.
the garde ended a 4 .3
Dresden win.
