took a plane to Halifax where
he is stationed with the
armed forces. He has been
visiting at home for two
weeks.

is a representative on the
• refugee committed sponsor-
ing the Vietnamese family in
• our area, Mr. and Mrs. Keit
La. She stated that by freely
offering love, patience, and a
feeling of, security to them
individually, a person is
richly rewarded. She thanked
everyone who had assisted in
the family's welfare during
their first year in Canada.
Mrs. Vaughn Munroe ex-
pressed our thanks and pres-
,ented a gift in appreciation.
A timely meditation;
Needed Understanding, was
given by Mrs. Messenger,
followed by prayer.

brought forth some worthy

Flea hockey
On Friday night, March
13, the Junior Fleas travelled
to Ripley where they were
defeated 3 1. Peter Neufeld
scored for Lucknow assisted
by Derek Turner. ,
On. Saturday the Senior
Fleas competed itt the Tees -
water Tyke Tournament.
They defeated Tiverton in
their first gatne 6 - O. Scoring
for Luckttow were Brad Mur-
ray, 4; Brad Taylor, 1 and
Donny Pickard, 1.
In their second game they
were defeated by Teeswater
7 - 3. Brad Murray scored a
hat trick for Lucknow.

Legion Hall .on Saturday

A good crowd attended the
annual St Patrick's program
at the Parish Hall on Sunday
evening. Don, Rayne acted
as chairman, ,
First on the program was a
square dance by Mrs.
Frayne's grades five and six
class. Ned and Elaine Cote
entertained by singing coun-
try and western music with
Ned accompanying on the
• guitar.
The Irish Jig was danced
by Denise Connelly followed
by Lisa Frayne's 'little High-
land Dancing class. Included
in the group were, Jennifer
Tigert, Jennifer Dalton, San-
dra Van Osch, Rhonda Hog-
an and Sarah Brophy, Lisa
Frayne then danced the
Sailor's Hornpipe.
Two cowgirls, Linda Sin
nett and Cathy VanDiepen,
very capably sang Danny's
Song and Me and Bobby
McGee, accompanied by Lin-
da, also playing the guitar.

Carl Voll ,told a few Irish ,
jokes and gave two of his
popular readings.
After telling a few Irish
jokes, Gene Frayne sang ,
How Ireland Got Its Name
and Danny Boy, accompan-
ied at the piano by Denise
Dalton.
To end the program, a
quartet consisting of Leo
Murray, Father Dentinger,
Gene Frayne and Don Frayne
sang a few numbers..
During lunch a special St.
Patrick's cake, made by
Loretta Doherty, was won by
her brother-in-law, Frank
Doherty.
A vote of thanks certainly
goes to Denise Dalton for
organizing the program and
to all those who took part.
