ding and some hard defen-
sive play salted •the win
away. Scoring in the game
were Paul Frayne, John
Hamilton, Doug Stevenson,
Geoff Graham and Dennis
' Burrows with two.

to Within one.
Doug Stevenson scored the
only - goal, of the second
period when he was set up by
' Stanley and Montgomery.
Both teams settled down and
concentrated on defense
waiting for their scoring
chances, which were few and
far between. When there was
a chance both goalies came
up big.
Lucknow opened the scor,
*ring In the third period or a
goal by John Hamilton only
to have Wingham comeback
three .minutes later to bring
themselves to within two.
• .The hard body checking and
skating continued through

With the score tied at
one, Wainfleet tallied with
just over four minutes re-
maining in the second per-
iod Lucknow was still unable
to mount a strong offensive
attack in the third period
scoring only one goal to
Wainfleet's seven. As Wain -
fleet stretched their lead t
three goals, the local boys in
a desperate attempt to re-
cover, abandoned their de-
fensive style of hockey leav-
ing Ray Guay to the mercy of
the Wainfleet shooters. Ray
made several good saves on
the initial plays but failure to
clear the puck in the Luck -
now zone resulted in five
goals in less than three
minutes. Lucknow rallied in
the dying minutes on a goal
by Steve MacPherson but ran
out of time. Kevin Clark
scored Lucknow's only other
goal with Steve MacPherson.
Brad Humphrey and Mike
Brown picking up assists in
the game.
The game could just as
easily gone in Lucknow's
favour had they been able to
capitalize on a number of
opportunities early in the
game but the breaks - just
weren't there.
