Last Sunday night the
Lancers started their playoffs
against the Mount Forest
Rams. The game was a high
scoring affair that wound up
going into overtime.
The Lancers outscored
Mount Forest in the first
period four goals to two,
Scoring for Lucknow were
Montgomery, Murray, 'Clark -
and Bob Surridge.
The Rams scored the only
goal in the second period
making the score 4 to 3 in
Lucknow's favour.
In Ithe third period, there
were seven goals scored,
four by the Rams and three
lq Om Lancers. Scoring for
Lucknow were Surriiige,
MacKinnon and Stevenson.
The sicore being tied, a ten
minute overtime period was
played and Lucknow's Bob
Surridge completed the hit
trick as he scored 47 seconds
into the overtime period to
give the Lancers the lead.
They hung on to win the first
game in the best of five
series. •b
The next gainC in the
series is next Friday night in
Mount Forest at 8.30 p.m.
and the next game in Luck -
now is Sunday, February 22
at, 7.30 p.m.

On February 15 the Luckr
now Midgets bowed out of
playoff contention losing 5 - 3
,to Brussels on their home
rink. Lucknow's prob-
lems of cold shooting was in
evidence again; getting the
chances but coming up em-
pty.. This brings the local's
season to an end.
With some players going
np to the Juveniles and some
not interested • enough to
come trepractices, their ice
time will become available to
• other teams more interested.

Make\A Miniature Garden

In the winter people often miss flowers in gardens and
leaves on trees. Why not perk up your bedr'oom with a
miniature garden! Most of the things you need to make a
small indoor garden can be found inside the house. Dig
through snow to find twigs, pebbles, and soil. It won't
take you long to create a reminder of the summer.
To make a miniature garden you need:
a small box with a -lid
soil •
pebbles
tin foil
sponge
twigs
colored paper
toothpicks
straws
glue
scissors
crayons
How to make a.miniature garden: IA
• 1. cut the box so it's only about an inch high
2. fill the box with soil
3. make paths with small stones
.4. make a river with tin foil •
5. glue sponge onto twigs to make trees
‘6. glue colored paper 'onto toothpicks to make flowers
7 cut and gluet\straws to make a fence *
8. color the inaitle of the lid with crayons and make a
summer scene
9. attach the lid to the box
