Mr. and Mrs. Len Cough-
lin and family visited_ Thurs-
day 'evening with Mr. and
Mrs.' Clifford Young and on
Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Jim
Young, Marty, Karen and
Lione and Ken Young visited
at the saiue home.
Robert - Bregman spent
Saturday at Collingwoodand
did soine snowmobiling with
his cousin.
Word was 'received that

Chester Pinnell of Mildmay
underwent surgery onTriday
in St, " Mary's Hospital in
Kitchener. We wish him ' a
speedy recovery. Chester is a
cousin of Clifford Young.
Mr. and Mrs. Len Cough-
lin, entertained visitors from
Port Elgin on Sunday.
Sympathy of the commun-
ity is extended to Mrs. Flor-
ence Raskin and, family ` of
Stokes Bay in the `loss of her
husband. who passed 'away
Tuesday, January 27. Flor-
ence lived near Whitechurch
for gttite a few years and was
well known in this district.
Sympathy is also extended
to relatives of Mrs. Donald
Cameron (the former Eva
Morrison) who passed away
in Brantford, February 1.
She lived, when a youngster
on her parentsfarm at Lang -
side and attended . Langside
School.
The Whitechurch Young
Peoples Rally was held last
weekend. A snowmobile and
toboggan party was held
Saturday afternoon with sup-
per being ' served in :. the
Whitechurch Hall after-
wirds. In the evening volley
ball 'and crab soccer were
played in the Lucknow School
gym after which Terry. Trites,
the minister from Bluevale
spoke to them on "Religion
in Rock and Roll" in the
Whitechurch `Hall. Sunday a
pot luck lunch was held in the..;.
basement of the Presbyterian
Church after,., the service.
With mother nature play-
ing her own winter games,°
the local Midgets had their
two ' scheduled games ; with
Brussels cancelled.
On February 9 they started
a new two out of three series,
me., commitments
being a factor.' ft was a good
playoff game with the game
tied 3 -3 after two. Brussels
went ahead with two minutes
to gonna scored in the empty
net to win 6 4.
Kevin Lindsay, Kent Alton
and Mike Humphreyscored
one each; Art Clark 1 goal, 1
assist; Paul Maclntyre, Dave
Gibson 2 assists and Brian
Taylor, Jim Young` 1 assist.
