On Saturday. January 24th
the Lucknow Bantams tray-�'
gilled to Paisley to participate.
in, the Paisley'. Bantam Tour-
nament, by meeting Ripley.
This had all the promise of
being a tough game and the
resulting game held to that
promise, The first . period
went . scoreless with , both
teams playing a defensive
first period.
With 131 left in the
second period'; Ripley scored.
Ltcknow's . Jamie ~Bere came
right back taking the pass°
from Steve Alton And Mike
Aus n and slamming it by
the Ripley goaltender, with
only 17 seconds left in the
period. The boys then retired'
to the dressing room with a 1
1 tie.
Coming backout in the
third' period with 1.40 Left on
the clock Grant Murray tal-
lied with assists from Tom
Gilmore. and Jamie Bete
slammed another one by the
Ripley goalie. Ripley then
pounced to tie the game up
resulting in . a stunning 10
minute overtime period.
Lucknow . outplayed Ripley
for the first 13 .minutes, only
to have Ripley squeak one by
the .excellent goaltending of
Pani Jerome to.win the game
3 2, thus putting Lucknow
in the consolation playoff.
The boys then weretreat-
ed to , a delicious full course
meal put on by the Paisley
Minor Sports. In a short span
of .an hour dinner had to be
digested and back out on the
ice to come up against
Teeswater. Somewhat look-
ing like the profile of their
manager; the playerswere
unable .to get back on track
until one second was , left in
uveniles enter
Steve Simpson scored five
goals Friday night to lead the
Lucknow Juveniles to an 8 - 3
victory over Teeswater in the
first of their best of five
series in the W.O.A.A. play-
offs-

the lead late in the first
period with three goals in the
last six minutes. Brad Hum-

popped one by Teeswater.
From thereon in,' the boys
put five snore in, ending the
game with a 6 - 1 score.

Lucknow then met Mildmay
for the Consolation Trophy..
Lucknow started off slowly
in the first period with Mild-
may putting in'the first goal.
Lucknow's Dungannon Boys,
Mike Austin and Jamie Bere
put Lucknow on the board
only to have Mildmay come
back with three -quick goals
in one minute, dumb found-
ing the Lucknow lads: 'The
boys pulled uptheir socks in
the third period with Jamie
Bene scoring from . Grant
Murray and Ken Van Osch to
put Lucknow within two of
tying the game,
Grant Murray assisted
Jamie Bere and Steve Alton
sent another home making it
4- 3 but the clock ran out and
Mildmay took the consola-
tion. v,

the Lucknow ` Bantam . team
from their Coaches and. Man-
ager for .the . way they have
been able to put their train-
ing into, practice in these past
few weeks. Also a thanks to
the parents for their support.
