Lucknowwon one game and lost two In the' past week. [James Friel photo] Lucknow Peewees drop two, win one • On Nov. 25 the Lucknow Peewees' played Teeswater in a rough and tumble hockey game. The very strong Teeswater Peewees playing on home ice, outscored Lucknow 8 - 1, Lucknow missing a few good sparing chances and playing better than the score indicated. Jamie Johnston, playing his first game as' a d'efenceman, had a strong game, body checkin'g very effectively. Brad Murray scored the lone Lucknow goal. Lucknow played host"to the Clifford Peewees on Nov. 29. The 'game was one-sided for the first •two periods with Lucknow leading 7 - 2 at intermission time. Clifford stayed with Lucknow, in the third period with each team scoring a goal. The final 'score was 8 -3. Michael Vandervelde scored four goals playing on a line with Brad Murray who scored two goals and Rod Crich who scored one. Peter Neufeld got, the other goal on a long hard slap shot. Playing in Howick on Dec. 1 Lucknow took a 10 2 beating. The good skating team from Howick beat the Lucknow boys ' to the puck time after time and made the most of their chances. It was a rough game with Lucknow 'getting seven penalties and Howick five. Lucknow held their own in rough going but came up short in the scoring. While it took the team a few minutes to adjust tO the wider ice surface',' Lucknow left no doubt that they came to play hockey, skating to an 8 - I victory. Scott Hackett opened the scoring from Steve Huffman and Chris Irwin about five minutes into the game but the lead was short lived. Although Walkerton scored a goal two minutes later, that was their total offense as the Lucknow squad stayed away from .the cheap shots and scored goals' instead. Jeff Walden .put the game .out of reach with a pure hat trick, two of them on power plays.
