The maty friends of Mies Mary
Elisabeth Lacey were greatly shocked
on hearing of her nether sudden death
on Thursday morning, Deee rber 8.

usual good letdth ahnt had gone to at-
tend the 8 o ela-k memos at te. Peter's
church, but not feeling well )net before
the divine service commenced, she re-
turned to her borne, where she tools re-
medies for an attack of indigestion, and
went about preparing breakfast for her
sister and brother-in-law, Mr. Thos.
Carroll. She died ebortly after they re-
turned home from t,hun•h. Miss Lacey
was in her eighty rood year. She
was born hi Goderich township, but et
an early age moved with her parents,
the late Mr. and Met. Thus. Lacey, to
('olborne township where she
lived until about twenty eters of age.
when she went to Philadelphia. She
resided there until a few year ago,
when sow mewed to Alilst aced later
to Goderk•h. She was a devout Ro-
man Dathollc, a member of the various
societies of the church, including the
Altar Society and the C.W.L. tike 1a
survived by one sister, Mee. James
Farr, and one brother, John Lacey,
Hayfield road, also by several nephews
and nie -es. The funeral took place on
Saturday morning from her late reti-
deneee, Wolfe street, to Ht. Peter's
ehureh, where requiem high ma*+c was
sung by Rev. Father Lowry, and thence
to St. Peters cemetery. Colborne. The
