Mrs. Rintoul spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Neil Rintoul, Steven, Scott and Stuart. - Silly Sewers Meet • The fourth meeting of Whitechurch Silly Sewers club was - held on Oct.` 23- after school at the home 'of Mrs: Wardrop., The meeting opened with all six members -repeating the pledge. The -roll was called - "Tell what you learned about altering your pattern" and " was well ans'wered.. The • minutes of the last, meeting were read by Karen Elliott. Ideas for book covers and the fashion show are to be brought to the next meeting. - Mrs. Elliott discussed sewing a seam, finishing a seam fitting, steps on stretching when sewing, , and piping. Mrs. Wardrop taught the club the parts of • a sewing machine. How to do different kinds of seam finishes'and press knits were also discus- sed. The meeting closed with the Creed. The fifth meeting of Whitechurch Silly sewers was held on ,Oct. 26 at 9 a.m. at the horpe of Mrs. Elliott. 'the meeting opened with the, pledge. Five members answered the rollcall "Show the sample'you'did of a suitable seam finish for your garmenit". A discussion was made on the book covers and onideas for the fashion show. Minutes Of last meeting were read by Kim Laidlaw, Mrs. Wardrop talked about grommet tape, rugger pants, and other trips for action wear. She also demonstrated how to do two different types of hems. Mrs. Elliott demonstrated one kind of hem and how to put in a ribbing. All made samples. The next meeting will be Oct. 28 at . Mrs. Wardrops. The, meeting. closed with the Creed. • /r .
