Henry Centen of Burnside and Associa-
tes was authorized to prepare a preliminary•
report on a request for an extension to'the
Wylds Municipal Drain. Building permits
were approved for E. Richardson for a
sugar shanty, Ken Phillips for a drive shed,
Paul Gorel, for an addition to his mobile
home, Morgan Payne to build a cottage
and J. C. Drennan for a barn.
A stock claim for capons killed by dogs
for $384.00 was approved.
The following resolutions was passed
and forwarded to the provincial govern-
ment, That we request the government to
grant Immediate Emergency Assistance to
the red meat producers of Ontario to allow
Ontario Farmers to compete fairly with
ihose in other provinces where subsidies
are given".
Barry McDonagh and Wayne Erdelac of
Frank Cowan Insurance Co. outlined the
insurance policies in effect and recom-
mended some changes. A resolution
accepting an agreement with the General
Accident Assurance Company to insure the
liability, was passed withsome increases in
coverage at a cost of $9,566.00..
The tile drain rating by-law #15,1985 in
the amount of $26,100.000 was given three
readings and passed. /
Council endorsed a resolution from the
Township of Onondaga on :bilingualism
which stated it would not be mandatory to
print municipal records in English and
French if the population did not warrant it.
Road accounts of $11,889.22 and general
accounts of $34.638.04 were approved for
payment.
The next meeting will be held Oct. 15 at
7.30.
Lucknow WI hosts area clubs
The Lucknow Women's Institute enter-
tained neighbouring institutes at their
October meeting on Tuesday evening.
Ruth Bogues, the president chaired the
meeting and welcomed all. Mrs. Wesley
Ritchie played the piano while the crowd
was gathering and played for 0 Canada.
Mary Loth read the motto "You're never
too old to learn". Jean Whitby called the
rollcall "What we learn from teenagers"
and gave the treasurer's report.
Kay Macintosh will attend the Home
Decorating Planning Program to be held in
Teeswater. D.ungannon, St. Helens,
Whitechurch and Kairshea societies were
represented. Mrs. Dan .Tiffin played a
piano instrumental and Roberta. Linskil
played several numbers on the accordian
and the ladies had a, sing song. Elaine
Errington recited poem, "The Ball
Game". Elsie Houston played an instru-
mental.
Ruth Thompson showed slides of a New-
foundland vacation and singing trio
consisted/ of Elizabeth Robinson, Kay
Macintosh and Ruth Thompson was. enjoy-
ed by all. Mrs. Bogues thanked Ruth and
presented her with a gift.
Stratford minister visited
Margaret Andrew and John, Steve and
Ann Andrew and family and Bill and
Suzanne Andrew and family visited with
Rev. Don and Louise Stroh and family of
Stratford on Sunday. Also visiting were
Robert and Mary Rowswell and girls of
London.
Harvey and Betty Ritchie attended the
funeral of her cousin the late Mrs. Jim
Aitchison of Wingham on Oct. 8 She was
the former Ethel Drehman.
Lillian and Russell Irvin and Elsie Irvin
of Goderic.h visited Sunday with their
sister, Doreen and Eldon Irwin at Sarnia..

Also visiting the Irvin's last week was Don
and Helen Gordan of Echo, Bay.
ACW send articles to Western Canada
KINLOUGH
The October meeting of the Anglican
Church Women was held 'Thursday after-
noon at'the church with Mrs. Eric Thacker
as hostess. Each member brought articles
and seven boxes of clothing and other
things were packed to be sent to a mission
in Western Canada.
Mrs. Delbert Hedley was in charge of
the meeting and the Scripture was'read by
Mrs. Roy Collins. Prayers followed. Mrs.
Ronald Thacker read the minutes and
correspondence, which included an invita-
tion from. St. Monica House at Waterloo, to
their open house on Oct. 23.
Plans were made for the November
meeting which will be the annual Fellow-
ship day.. Mrs. Eric Thacker read Bishop
Robinson's letter in the Huron Church
News and also read "The green olive tree"
from Psalm 52. Mrs. Marjorie Thompson
gave a, full report of the. Deanery meeting
which was held at Kincardine On Oct. 1.

The spring meeting will be held at St.
Peter's Church, Lucknonw, in early June.
May Boyle presided for the election of the
1986 officers. Last year's officers were re-
elected and thanked for their co-operation
in 1985.
Mrs. Douglas Tiexeira (Mina Hodgins)
of South Burnaby, B.C. spent the week
with her mother Mrs. Agnes Flodgins and
other relatives.
Visitors with Edna and May Boyle on
Oct. 8 were Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Neil of
Redford, Michigan and Mrs. Pearl Lloyd,
Joan Elliott and Gwen ' Shoebottom of
London. •
