4 -Hers discusfabric
The first 'meeting of Whitechurch 4-1-t
was held on September 28 at 9 a.m. at the
home of Mrs. Walter Elliott. The Meeting
opened with the pledge. Six: members
answered the roll call. Nominations were
held with the following results: President,
Karen Vice -President, Alison
Wardrop; -Press-
Reporter, Kim Laidlaw
and -Secretary, Cathy DON.
We discussed what was required and
talked about knit fabric. The next meeting
will be held at Mrs. Wardrops October 5 at
9 a.m. The'meeting closed with the Creed.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Boonstra of .London
visited Monday with Mr. Bill Uuldriks.
On ,Tuesday eyening Alex Verbeek and'
Jamie of Clinton were callers on Mr. and
Mrs. Victor Emerson. Jamie left on
September 28 for Nova Scotia where he
joins the army.
Rev. Bev Kay "of Kitimat has now been
transferred to Selkirk, Manitoba. On Sept=
ember 25 Rev. and Mrs. Kay, Wendy and
Alicia of Selkirk and her mother, Mrs,.
Graham of Brampton, were callers on 'gr.
and Mrs., Vic EinerSon, Mrs. Wesley
Tiffin, Mrs. Cassie Mowbray, Mr and
Mrs. Wallace Milligan, Mrs.' Glenna
Steffen, Susie and Chrystal, Mrs. Clara
Irwin, Lucknow, Cody and Chanse, and
had supper with Mrs: John Gaunt.
Rev. George Ball of Milverton "and Mr."
Gertrude Tiffin of Wingham were 1Friday
callers on Mr. and' MM. Victor Emerson.
At the Whitechurch Community Church
service last Stinday, Rev. George Ball
announced •that church services for the
month of October would be held in White-
church United Church at 11 a.m.. Stinday
-School will continue to be held in Chalmers
Presbyterian Church at 10 a.m: It, was also
announced that on- Ottober 6 the district
secretary of the Canadian Bible Society
from London, Rev. D: L :Wallace, will be
:guest preacher.
Whitechurch has had a' branch of the
Bible Society .fdr a good many years. The
present' branch president is Mrs. ,Agnes
Farrier.. The Bible Society servicehelps
people know what they are supporting and
.what is 'accomplished by- their giftS. •
Mr. and Mrs. Bill McBurney of Ajax
visited last weelewith .Mr. and. Mrs. Victor
Emerson and Mrs. Wesley Tiffin and
Wesley in the Winghamllospital. They left

Mr. and Mrs. Bill McBurney visited on
• September 25 with their friend Mrs. Alice
Chatterson of London whom they met on a
tour to Scotland seven years ago.
• Mr. and Mrs. Relison Falconervof Sarnia
visited with his mother,- Mrs.- Cassie
Mowbray on Saturday and Sunday white
attending a wedding.
Mr:. and Mrs, Wallace Milligan on
Sunday took a patient to Victoria Hospital,
London and his mother to Ronald mcDon-
ald House. • /
Ivan Laidlaw and Kim took Mrs. Crow-
ston of thcknow out to dinner on Sunday
evening to celebrate her coming birthday.
On September 29 the Sinnamon family
gathered together. Present were Ken, '•
Hugh and Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Beecroft,
Mr. and'Mrs. Phillip McMillan, Lucknow;
Mr: and Mrs. Archie Hertel, Kitchener;
Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Forsyth, .Walkerton;
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Sinnamon, Born-
holm; Mrs. Dawn Webster, London; Dick
Turnbull and Melvin Turnbull, London;
and Mr. and Mrs Glenn : Sinnamon,
Wingharn. After having dinner at turn-
( berry Tavern all visited at Glenn Sinna-
mons home in Wingham.,
Callers on September 29 with Mrs.
Wesley Tiffin were Mrs. Wealtha Hender-
son, Jim Tattrie and friend, Mr. and Mrs.
Mike Tournier, Mike and Corey,. all of
Brantford.
Brian Falconer and friend of Sarnia
visited with Mrs. Cassie Mowbrayon the
weekend when attending a wedding.
The Lucknow public school pupils
• enjoyed a holiday as the teachers had a

• Mr. and Mrs. Lorne burnin and Mr, and
Mrs. Elroy Laidlaw visited on Sunday with
Mr. and Mis. Clayton Scholtz of Goderich.
• On Saturday Mis. Verna' Switzer of
Thorndale and Mrs. Joy Smith Of Goderich
were in the village seeking 'information
about their ancestors. They contacted Miss
. Annie Laidlaw and Mr. and Mrs. Victor
Emerson. • .•

Tutors arranged for ktnclergarten

Mrs. L. Tebbutt's Grade 3-4 in room 7
are organizing, with the Kindergarten
classes, a peer -tutoring time. The Grade 3
class will work with one Kindergarten class -
and the Grade 4 class will work with the
second class: Thanks to Mrs. Sygrove and
• Mrs. :Bere for initiating the program.
• Mrs. H. Young's, Grade 1 class are
learning colour words and making rainbow
• mobiles. They have also finished their bear
and their fall booklets.
Mrs. Caineron's Kindergarten class
went on a school tour. They talked to Mr.
Tremeer, the principal, about his job at
school., The secretary, Mr. Blake, showed
• them the coinputer and explained to them
how it works, and then Mr. Wilkins showed
them the boiler room.
Mrs. Worsell's Grade 5 class, as well as
the other Grade 3 - 6 classes, visited the
Mtiseum Mobile in Goderich on September
24 and found it very interesting and
informative.
Mrs. Allen's Grade 5 class had a
Birthday Luncheon on September 27 in
honour of students" who had September
birthdays. Hog dogs were available and
enjoyed by all. Mrs. ,Worsell's Grade 5

A students' council is as/ follows:

ent, Shauna Andrew; Secretary, Julie
Pentland and Treasurer, Dennis Park. The
room representatives are: Room 7, Traci
• Curran; Room 9, Kerry Snowden; Portable
1, Dana Park; Portable 2, Michael Cere;
Room 7, Joel Wright; Room 11, Jeff
Storey; Room 12, John Wright. The repres-
entatives from Rooms 11 and 12 assisted in
conducting the elections.
Mrs. Sheila Clarke conducted a Work-
• shop on puppetry at the board office on
Thursday afternoon.
Grade 2, Room 4, is making "Special
Me" books about ourselves. We can also
write wishes for the wishing well and trace
our feet and hands for leaves! Dennis Black
is our "Special Me" this week and Colin
Becker was "Special Me". last week.

The first meeting of No Sweat Sewers
was held September 16 at Mrs. Murray's.
We completed the roll call and were asked ,
to do the world scramble. Our president is
• Karen Binder; vice-president is Tammy
Sutton, secretary is rotating and the press
reporter is Judy Lane. The kneed/1g started
at 4.30 arll ended at 6.30.

Second Meeting
• The second meeting of No Sweat Sewers
was held on • September 23 at Mrs.
McEwan's place. We did the rollcall which
was three different kinds of knit garments.
We also took our body measurements and
were told to bring our patterns pinned
on our fabric ready to cut out. We played a
game before we left at 6.30.
