Queen to be picked at dance.
On September 14 Lucknow Agricult-
tural Society is choosing .it s Miss
Lucknow Fall Fair. Dancing to Anything
Goes, will be from 9 till 1 a.m. at the
Community Centre. Admission is $4.00
for adults or110.00 per per family. First
stage appearance will be at 10.30 while
the crowning takes place about 11.30.
The winner will advance to the Miss
Mid Western Ontario Pageant on Sept-
ember 21. There will be at least 10
contestants in this years Miss Lucknow
Fair contest.
On September 20 exhibitors will be
placing their exhibits in the arena
between 9 a.m. . and noon. Judging
takes place 'in the afternoon. At 7.30
p.m. in the arena there will be local
entertainment, viewing of indoor exhib-
its, arm wrestling and log sawing. A
new feature this year will be a bag tying
contest. Admission is $1.00.
On Saturday, gates open at 11 a.m.
With a light horse show. A mammoth
parade takes at 12.30, featuring all the
contestants (approx. 26) for the Miss
Mid, Western Ontario Beauty Pageant.
• Lucknow and Walkerton Pipe Bands will
be in • the parade. Admission for
SatUrday .afternoon is $2.00 for adults,
and 50c for, children. After opening
• ceremonies there Will be livestock
exhibits, the 'light horse show contin-
ues, and the poultry show in the bam.
At 1.45 a horseshoe tournament begins,
as does entertainment by the Nine Mile
Boys. Kiddies Rides will be supplied by
the Bayfield lions Club.
At 2.30 there will be frog jumping,
stilt walking for the children. A baby
show will be held in the arena. At 3.30
1 tug-of-war competition and rope climb-• .
ing. At 4 there will be a bake auction -
• with Col, Cletus Dalton in the arena.
Indoor exhibits may be removed after
' 4.30 p.m.
On Saturday evening the Carlton
' Show Band will perform at a concert at
• 8.00 p.m. At 8.30.the contestants for the
Miss Mid Western Ontario Pageant will

• concert continues while the crowning of
• the winner will be at approximately 10
p.m.
A dance will round out the evening to
the music of the Carlton Show Band.
Admission to the concert and dance is
$8:00 for adults and $4.00 for children.
You are advised to purchase advance
tickets to avoid disappointment. A
special occasion permit will be in effect
with proceeds of the bar going to the
new Luclmow and District Sports Com-
plex. This year marks the 20th anniver-
sary of the Miss Mid Western Ontario
Pageant.
Band marches into action
