ton, from which the winner advances to the
Canada. Packers Quilt Contest at the con-
vention in February at the Royal York
Hotel, Toronto.

Annual flower shows
The Lucknow and District Horticultural
Society annual Flower Show was held on
Wednesday afternoon, August 21st at the
Legion Hall with. 35 exhibitors and 417
entries.
The guests enjoyed an ;afternoon of
flower and vegetable displays, refresh-
ments and soft music.
Winning first prize for her -begonia was
Mrs. Jean Hughes who is 92 years young.
The Red Rose Tea Trophy was won by
Joan Robinson for the bestred rose arid the
trophy for the highest points was won by
Mrs. Anne MacDougall.

School Competition: '
Entries from Brookside,: Colborne and
Kingsbridge schools were judged, with prize
' winning items being displayed at the fair.
Over 70 sections were offered for
Kindergarten .to Grade 8, including prin-
ting/writing, booklets, poetry, creative
writing, notebooks, .art, crafts, French,
Science, Health, History and Georgraphy,
posters and murals;
The Dungannon Agricultural Society was
pleased to display the fine productsof their
exhibitors at their 126th Fair.
