St. Helens WI enjoy. bustrip On Wednesday, August 28 members and friends of St. .Helen's Branch of the Women's Institute enjoyed a bus trip to , Tillsonburg and surrounding; area. The highlight of the day was a visit to Coyles where the ladies spent an hour looking for specials/in baking ingredients and grocer- ies: They found lots of bargains judging by thenumerous large parcels . stowed away in the lower compartment of the bus.' Aftera light lunch we visited a very interesting tobacco museum. The lovely displays of dolls dressed .in costume of all the ethnic groups who originally settled in the'area and started the tobacco industry are well worth a visit. The tour then went on to a tobacco farm to see the harvesting in operation. The group took a great interest in seeing all the different stages of the curing and were able, to talk to the farmers. Several of the ladies reminisced about the time they themselves worked at the .tobacco harvest. The final stop was at a mall. in Wood- stock where we had a short shopping spree before eating supper, and travelling home. A special thank you to bus driver; Ron Zimmer and Mari Burkhart and committee for an enjoyable and relaxing day.
