Area showers bride-to-be
Mr. and,Mrs. Truman . Ftllinger of
Detroit and VIr. and Mrs. Bert Nicholson
attended the Cuyler-Mclvor wedding in
Owen Sound on Saturday.
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Kevin
Howey (Cathy Hedley) on the arrival of
their baby daughter in Kitchener Hospital
on Friday, July 2.6. Michelle Howey is
staying with her grandparents, Mr. and
Mrs. Delbert Hedley. .
The Haldenby family picnic was held on
Sunday, July 21 at the home of Mrs. N. E.
(Bertha) and the late Ted Haldenby. All
enjoyed a delicious meal and also a time of
visiting and fun together.
Mr: and Mrs. Iman Mohamed and family
of Toronto spent the weekend with Mr. and
Mrs. Fred Page.•
Teresa Farrell of concession 10 visited
with her cousin Julie Hodgins of Niagara at
the home of Mrs. Marretta Hodgins. .
A relatives bridalshower was held on
•Saturday afternoon at the Kinlough Angli-
can Church for Cathy Gillespie.
Annabelle Aitchison was chairlady and
conducted a .contest on 'commercials. Lori
• Aitchison favoured with a piano solo. The
Marriage Bureau was.acted by Betty Ann:
Thompson, Mrs.. Don Bushell and Barbara
Bushell.
The bride. was escorted to her place of
honour. Those who assisted in bringing in
the gifts were Nan'ty and Jill Aitchison and,
Brett Thompson. Opening the gifts with

the bride and reading the attacnea verses
were Mrs. Katherine Mohamed (the .
groom's sister), Michele Hodgins, Betty
Ann Thompson and Lori Aitchison. .
Cathy thanked everyone for the lovely
gifts and the girls who had arranged the
shower and invited all to her home to see
her trousseau. • Lunch was served and a
social time enjoyed.
A bridal shower was held on Saturday
'evening at the Pentecostal manse for Judy
McDonald, formerly. of the South Line.
Mr. and Mrs. David Rhody •and family
are home from Africa with his parents, Mr,
and Mrs. Gerald Rhody and other rela-
tives.
Mr. and Mrs: Ken Hodgins and Shelly of
Niagara•Falls spent the weekend here with
his mother, Marietta Hodgins. Julie, .who
had been holidaying here, returned home
with her parents on Sunday. •
.Mrs. John Barr, Mrs. Frank Maulden
and. W innifred Percy visited with Mr. and
Mrs. Morley Bushell of . Wingham on
Friday.

Kincardine, home.
Sherwood - Twamley reunion held
The 24th annual Sherwood-Twamley
Reunion was held at the Belgrave Wom-
en's Institute Hall on Sunday, July 21 with
a good attendance.
Grace was sung 'after which everyone
enjoyed a bountiful noon lunch. During
lunch, music on tape whish was supplied
by Bernice and Gordon .Johnstone was
much enjoyed by all.
Myrtle Johnstone, president,'welcomed
everyone after which a minute's silence
was observedin memory of those who are.
no longer with us. .
It was decided that a rough draft of the
proposed family, history be madefor
approval at next year's reunion.
Hilda Twamley gave an outline of her
recent trip to Ireland where she was
warmly welcomed by members of several
Twamley families whom she had not
previously met.
Sandra Henry was in chargeof games -
and contests which were interesting and
entertaining. Some of those winning prizes
were Marie Morrison for being the eldest
member present; the youngest girl .was
Sara.Thornton and the youngest boy was
Jonathan Finnigan. Door prizes were won
by Lloyd. Finnigan and Elizabeth 'Plunkett.
The most requesteditems in a lady's purse
contest was won by Mrs. Earl Sherwood,
Jean Le • Pine, Anne Mcinnes, •
• The most requested items - in a man's
• pockets contest was won by Dan Mclnnes.
Other Contest winners were, knowing your
partner, Bernice Johnstone,: 'Mildred Hen-
ry, Dan McInnes; clothes pin game; Tena
Thornton; running race, Max Prince, ..
