School days remembered
Former students who attended S. S. No.
9, Ashfield in the early 1930s met at
Brookside Public School on July 27.
The afternoon was spent reminiscing
about school days, sharing pictures and
clippings and enjoying many a laugh. A
visit was made to the old S. : S. No. 9
schoolhouse, evoking many memories.
Those present were Wilamina Lannan
Hill, Rosemary Lannan Bass, Elmira Alton '
Finnigan, Russell Alton and Margaret,
Tom Phillips ,and Evelyn, Phyllis Blake
Morrison and Gordon, 'Gordon Anderson
and Madeline, Gordon Saunders and Nora
and granddaughter Elaine, Freda. Saund-
ers Broome and daughter Mary, and Mary
Horton Bere.
It was the consensus of those present to
haveanother gathering in 1986 at
Brookside and -invite all who attended S. S.
No. 9, Ashfield, prior to 1967. It would be
much appreciated if former students in this
area would contact Mrs. Gordon Morrison
with names and addresses '. of any other
former students and teachers who have
moved to other parts.
A delicious pot luck supper, was enjoyed
to complete a most enjoyable and interest=
ing afternoon.
