niversary in 1856.

What a shirt tail 'parade
wagon. On it were the boys from Pine River
with Don Steele of Kitchener and Bob Court-
ney of Arnberley along with several others
playing their musical instruments."
"What a shirt-tail parade it was. It was a
Mardi Gras—revelry was 'every'where.
When the orchestra float was no leading the
`parade' it was Andy Burgess with the
O.P.P. cruiser. Well after the parade came
up from the west end, it turned the bank cor-
ner and went south, then back up north.
Eventually it disbanded with a great crowd
going to the dance in the new complex."
"However there were groups of people all
over, the village and their happy talk filled
the pleasant summer evening, air and one
knew that "Ripley was alive in '75."
On Monday afternoon Shirley Irwin" was
crowned Bruce County Dairy Princess ,by .
"Sherry Pollock, the 1972-73 Ontario Dairy
Princess from Ripley,
Sherry Pollock and. Reunion Queen Joan
Courtney judged the beard -growing contest,
later in the afternoon. -
/ Winners of the contest were; best trimm- -
ed, Burton Collins; whitest, Bill Tranter;
longest, Howard -Ludwig; blackest, Clayton
Farrell; reddest, Bruce Aitken; . and shab-
biest; Mike Snobelen.
When people think of .the '75 reunion they
think of the community spirit and en-
thusiasm that was and still -is an intregal
part of Huron Township. Final profits from
the reunion neared $30,000 which was put
toward funding for the Ripley Huron -Com
plexi
