The Old Royal, located on the corner of Queen and Harbour Streets
in Kincardine was formerly The Traders Bank until the turn of the
century. It became the, Royal Bank. of Canada and remained so' until
1978 when it was purchased by McKee Jewellers. We are proud of
our history and our involvement in the community.

"Memories of the Past", the pageant per-
formed by members of the community,
traced the history of Huron Township from
1848 to 1975. As with all the weekend events
there was a tremendous turnout for Satur-.
day evening's performance on an outdoor,
stage set up behind the Ripley High School.
The pageant was written and directed by
Minnie Lock with Olwen MacAuley, chair-
man of the pageant committee, assisting in
directing. Adelene Martyr; and -R -Moore
were the narrators for the evening. The
pageant went off without a hitch due to the
cooperation and participation of many
Huron Township residents who provided an
entertaining historical account for the huge
audience.
Sunday's events included a church service'
in•the Ripley High School in the morning and
a Lions Beef Barbecue in the arena in the
late afternoon. ' Paris Concert Band per-
formed an outdoor concert in the evening.
Few who were .in Ripley on Sunday night
will forget the hoards of people . who
gathered for the shirt-tail parade. The
following is Ab Wyld's account of the event
which appeared in the following week's •
paper. .
