We extend sympathy to Mr. and Mrs.
Ellwood Elliott and family, concession 8' on
the death of her father, the late Walter
Chesbro of Kincardine and formerly of
concession 8. The funeral was at , the
MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Chapel,
Kincardine on Friday with burial? at
Greenhill Cemetery, Lucknow.
Robin, Bevan, . Darryl and Jonathan
Hodgins returned home to St. Catharines
on Friday after visiting here with Mrs.
Marretta Hodgins.
Mr. and Mrs. James Ruby of Jerome,
Michigan and Stanley Elliott of Redford,
Michigan visited with Marretta Hodgins.
All were guests at the Elliott -Clampitt
wedding in Ripley on Friday.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Page and girls of
Burlington spent the weekend with his
parents here.
Vera Hodgins of London visited here
Sunday.
On Saturday., afternoon neighbours and
friends gathered at the .Kinlough Anglican
Church basement for a miscellaneous
bridal shower for Cathy Gillespie. Mrs..
Bert Nicholson was chairperson and gave
two readings. She extended a welcome. .to
everyone on this happy occasion.
Readings were given by Agnes Hodgins
and Mrs. Frank Maulden. Mrs. Midford
Wall and An8ela Collins favoured with a
piano number. Mrs. Jack Barr and Mrs.
Bert Nicholson acted. a skit called, The
Marriage license".
The verses on the gift cards were read by
Mrs. Brian Thompson andher daughter,
Brett. Teresa -Bell of Walkerton placed the
gifts. Making the bow bridal hat was Sue
Hodgins of Landon.
Cathy thanked everyone for coming and
for all the lovely gifts. She visited with
everyone during the lunch and following
time. Pink and.' white streamers and
wedding bells, balloons and a floral ar-
rangement made a nice' summer setting.

We were sorry to. hear that Mrs. Frank
(Elsie) Brown of Teeswater formerly of
concession 10, who was the faithful Culross
Corners correspondent for the Lucknow
Sentinel for years,. had the misfortune to
fall, breaking: her hip. She is a patient in
University Hospital, London. We send our
get well wishes, Elsie. We still miss her
Sentinel Column.
Visitors on the weekend with Marretta
Hodgins were Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Stanley,
Mrs. Irene Hodgins of Lucknow, Mr. and
Mrs. Bill Hodgins and son, Garret of
London and Mr. and Mrs. Ken Hodgins
and the girls of Niagara Falls.
Mrs. Tom McDonald. and Mrs. Ken.
MacDonald attended a bridal shower for
Judy McDonald at the home of Mrs. Bert
Thompson, Teeswater on Saturday after-
noon.
The Presbyterian W.M.S. meeting was
held on Wednesday evening at the home of
Mrs. Don• Reid.
Mrs. Don Bushell presided and began
with a poem. Mrs. Don Reid conducted two
Biblical contests followed by prayer.
Mrs. Don Robertson was in charge of the
program and spoke on Beauty. 'Mrs. Frank
Maulden . gave a ;reading. Suitable hymns
were: sung.
This was followed by a hymn contest.
Courtesies were given. and , the meeting
closed with the Lord's prayer. Grace was
said and lunch wasserved by the hostess..•
Mr. and Mrs. Tom McDonald visited on
Sunday evening with/Mr. and Mrs. Fault
Bushell. .
Mrs. Paul Murray (nee Carrie Allen) is a
patient in St. Joseph's Hospital, London.
We are sorry Carrie has a painful arthritic
condition. We send our love and get well
wishes. Mrs. Charles Murray and Paul
took Carrie to London .on Monday.
