Alberta family visits with area
Visiting this week with .Mrs. Gib Hamil-
ton were her sister; Mrs. Brian Boothman
from' Elk Point, Alberta; her son and
daughter-in-law and family, Mr. and Mrs.
Ross Hamilton, Karen and David from
Brandon, Manotiba. Also visiting was her
daughter, Betty Hamilton, from St.
Catharines who, ion Friday, travelle.. h
her mother to Southampton to visit Alice
and Goldwin Purves.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Haldenby of Sarnia •
visited for a few days with his son and
daughter-in-law, Barry and -Marie Hald- .
enby and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Robertson of
Seaforth visited 1ast. week with Mr. and
Mrs. Spence Irwin. Also visiting the same
home on Sunday was Fred Lanting and
family. '
Congratulations ' to Ab . and r Gloria
Murray who celebrated their. 25th wedding
anniversary on Friday of last week with an
open house Saturday evening at the
Lucknow Community Centre.
Rita and Mel Morrison of Highway 86
were awakened early Monday morning to
find a stump in their back yard about 100
yards from their house had caught fire. The
brightness of the flames aroused Rita and
Mel and only a small .portion of pie stump
was left. Mel figures it was struck by
lightning,has it was storming at that time.
Alice Clark spent five days in. Graven-
hurst visiting relatives and friends. She
returnedhome on Monday.
It was a busy place at the town hall last
Wednesday and Thursday where people
were signing up for a free •hook up for
Cable. T. V.
., Don and Linda MacKinnon, Steven,
Dana and David from Calgary, Alberta are
visiting for a month here with relatives and
friends. They will also travel to other parts

Marion and Donald MacKinnon of Elgin
Street.
Joanne Searle spent Monday 'in. London
and visited Gail Mackie, who has been a
patient in London hospital for the last two
months.
Winners of draw on June 28 at Informa-
tion Seniors' Day in Wingham, by Nichol-
. son Bus lines were Mr. Wesley ' Young,
Lucknow, who won a Parry Sound Colour
Boat 'cruise and Mrs. Cathy McCracken of
Belgrave, who won a trip - to the Royal
Winter Fair. •
Mrs. Marion Finnie of • St. Marys, Chair-
man of Region2 of the Hospital Auxiliaries
Association Of Ontario, brought greetings
from her executive to the members of the W.
& D. Hospital Auxiliary at their meeting on
Monday, June14. She urgedthe group to
plan ahead and budget for participation in
the Association's educational events • at'
which top level professional leaders give in-
struction in volunteer skills. Mrs. Jo Facey,.
alsoof the •St. Marys area and Secretary -
Treasurer of Region 2,, accompanied. Mrs.
Finnie on her visit to Wingham.
During the business session the Auxiliary
voted to donate the net proceeds of the spr-
ing rummage sale, $2,100 (receipts minus'
expenses), to the Hospital Building Fund. In
St. Mary's Roman, Catholic Church,
Luclmow is in the process of expanding the
church. An addition has been built at the
back of the church to be used for Sunday
School meetings; etc. A community barbe-
que will be held in July for the building
fund.
Mr. and Mrs. Murray Button and family
bf Kitchener spent the last weekend with
Murray's mother, 'Lorna Button.

Brad, Sharon, Shane and Devin Pet-

the .weekend at their daughters' homes.
They ' visited Lynda . of Mississauga and
Carol and Jack 'Whyne and family of Toron-
to. On Sunday June 23, they attended a
brunch shower for Jason Whyne at the home
of Tonia and David Kelley of Toronto.

fund-raising projects, they were able to vote
at this time to provide the following much-
needed items for the hospital!• -Two Balkan
frames for,bed patients', two Geri chairs for
geriatrics, two Broda chairs and two Broda
footstools for a patients' lounge, and one
Croupette for. pediatrics. The total cost of
these items will be $3,680.,
A progress report was made on the plann-
ing activities in preparation . for the Fall
Conference of, Region 2, Hospital Auxiliaries
Association which will be held in St. An-
drew's Church, Wingham, on September 30.
The next meeting of the auxiliary will be on
Monday, September 23. ;

R. 2 Lucknow are pleased to arinounte the
safe arrival of their son on July 1, 1985,
weighing 9 lbs, at Wingham and District
Hospital. He's a wee brother for Henry,
Roman, Samuel, Katie and Amanda.
