Mrs. Arthur Phillips and her daughter, Mrs. Douglas Palmier brought Mrs. Frank Maulden home. The ladies visited Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec City., / . The Holyrood Women's Institute were entertained on Wednesday evening begin- ning with a delicious pot luck meal at the summer home of Mr. and Mrs. Raynard Ackert. Mrs. Charles Murray extended a wel- come to all following the usual opening exercises. Plans were made for the annual trip to the Blyth Centre for the Arts, tosee the comedy; Moose Country, in August. Two of the ladies who had birthdays on that date, Mrs. Lome. Visitors with Marretta Hodginsover the. weekend for the Stanley family picnic were Gladys Stanley and Dennis; Mr. and Mrs. Jim Bolger and Amanda, of St. Catharines and Mr. and Mrs. Glen Hodgins and family of St. Catharines. A total of 135 descendants of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward Stanley of concession 14 gathered on Saturday at the beach, picric area for their annual family reunion. They had a delightful day together. The festivities wound up at the home of Mr. and Mrs: Leonard Stanley and family. On Sunday, the Presbyterian service was, taken by the W.M.S.. and Sunday School. followed with a picnic on the church grounds. Rev. Shaw is on vacation for Julg? During the electrical storm on the weekend, lightning' hit the farm home of Jack Barr, . knocking 'out the hydro and killing two cattle in the field, . Mrs. Edburt Bushell; and her daughter, Kathryn Fraser went to visit Edburt in ,a London hospital on Sunday. Locals at threshers reunion Visiting on the weekend with Barry, Betty and Sharlene Jones were Barry's sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James McGill, and their daughter Sherry Jones of Thorndale. Rhetta MacLennan had her son and daughter in-law, Jack and Annette Mac- Lennan of Stratford visit with her on the weekend. Finlay MacDonald and 36 others went by bus from Wingham to attend the National " Threshers Reunion in Wausen, Ohio on the' weekend. • Thos S visiting Dorothy (D..A.) MacLen- nan were her daughter, Margaret (Peggy) Heffernan, her sister, Katie -Sutherland, and her friend Christine McFaydden of London. • • A lovely shower was held Monday evening " at Reids Corner Hall for Helen Kempton, daughter of Bill and Janet Kempton of Point Clark. Helen received many lovely and useful gifts from the community.; Helen thanked all the ladies very fittingly and a bountiful lunch was served by the hostesses. A social hour was spent by all the ladies. Visiting on the _weekend with Dorothy Fhilayson were Carol Finlayson, her husband, John Balch and son Alexander, and Kenny and Allan Finlayson of Toronto and Bill and Judy Finlayson and family of' Teeswater. Weekend visitors with Max and Helen Riegling were Craig Riegling., son of Frank and Anne Riegling of Whitelaw, Alberta. He has also been visiting other relatives in the' area. Other visitors with the Rieglings were Mrs. Rieglings sister, brother-in-law and girls,.
