Glenns celebrate 60th annveriary in Dungannon.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Glenn, formerly of
Dungannon and now living in Lucknow,
celebrated their 60th anniversary dn June
24.
Over 40 friends and relatives attended a.
dinner at. the Dungannon United Church
followed by a public.get-together on Satur-
• day, June 30. .
They were married on June 24, 1925 at'
the Minister's Manse in Iudmow with
Rev. C. W. Cosens performing the wed-
ding ceremony. The couple lived west of
Dungannon for 47 years, before moving to
Glenhaven Apartments in Iudmow last.

Mr. and Mrs. Glenn both agree that
"hard work" and "having a good partner"
were the keys to having a happy and long
marriage.
Annual bus trip plates finalised
• The July meeting of St. Helen's branch
of the W.L was held in the hall and chaired
by vice-president Lila Rintoul. Fifteen •
members were present.
A letter was read concerning a food
- processor course to be held July 30 at the
PresbyterianChurdr, Wingham. Anyone
• "interested must register with O.M.A.F.
The branch received a thank you letter
from the Davidson family, who recently
lost their house by fire. .
After a short discussion on the :annual
bus trip, it' was decided to finalize
arrangements at the August meeting.
Committees were put in place to arrange
the 80th anniversary of thebranch to be
held in October. Donnybrook U: C. W . have
agreed to cater.
Members with neve .and different ideas
for meetings were asked to drop them into
a suggestion box, which will be brought to
the next meeting.
In the Issue of the Day, Celia Aitchison
read from • a newspaper account on the
• F. W .L C. four day convention, recently
held at U. W .0., London. She mentioned
one of the primary resolutions put forward
on Nuclear. Arms limitation. Sybil Chandler
gave' a short report on the one day that she
spent at the same. conference. ,

The. Lidmow Agricultural Society held
their regular June meeting in, the .Com-
munity Centre.
A donation of $50 was received from
Bruce County Safety Association. A dona-
tion of $50 was sent to the Friend of .4-H,
F trod.. Approval was given to enlarge the
stage at the Community Centre for use at •
the beauty queen pageant. Permission was --
received from Kinloss Township • Council
and the Ludmow Fire Department for a
demolition derby to be held at the tractor
pull site on Fliday, August 9 at 7 ,p.m.
Pians were finalized for the Walter
Ostanek dance on Fliday, July 19. \.
Tickets were distributed for the Craft
Festival draw to beheld on August 2 - 3.
Permission was given to the Noisy
Ladies to use the snow"fence for their ball
tournament: .
Fall Fair books were distributed to the
members present.
• A judging will be held in Walkerton on
July 24. •
Advance tickets will be sold for the
Carlton Show Band at this years Fall Fair.
A skit was planned for the concert part at.
Dr. Corrin Night on July 12.

In her topic, Lorene McQuillin read,
How to complain and get .results, an
excellent paper, giving helpful hints to
consumers. She also gave a humourous
reading on Specials and Discount Shop-
ping. .
Caroline 'Snowden gave a reading
entitled, How to know you're growing older
and Jennie, McPherson read •a humourous
-letter from a mother to •her son.

Eveli though the marriage Certificate is a little tattered and torn, the marriage of Flank and
Mary Glenn of Iudmow is like brand new. Mr.. and Mrs.. Glenn celebrated their 60th
anniversary on June 24. -"It takes a lot of hard' work," says Mr.. Glenn, referring to. the •

Attend reunion
Mr. Al Sherwood and his wife, Cora,
motored to Winnipeg for reunion of 409
Squadron R.C.A.F: which was held at
Canadian Air Farces Base June 21 to 23:
Veterans In attendance were from all
across Canada with some from the U.S.
that had joined the RC.A.F. Retired Wing
Commander Wendy Ried was in attend-
ance. The next reunion will be held in
Hamilton, Ontario.
