Anglican ladies visit Brucelea
On Thursday, the Anglican Church
Women went . to Brucelea Haven at
Walkerton for their annual visiting day.
The day began with a lovely roast beef
full course dinner at noon, served in the
tuck shop area. The table was beautiful and
colourfully arranged.
The special guests, Grace Graham and
Dorothy Thompson, were ushered from
their room by an attendant. They were
truly surprised.
Reverend Merelyn Letson said the Grace
and all enjoyed' the dinner.
Agnes Hodgins and May Boyle were the
conveners for the meeting. May presided
and expressed pleasure in being at the
meeting and able to enjoy a dinner with
Grace and Dorothy.
May read a Bible verse and all repeated
the Lord's Prayer. Edna Boyle conducted a
contest which got the members all
thinking. Some humorous readings were
given by Mrs. Eric Thacker, Mrs. Ronald
Thacker and May Boyle.
We had all enjoyed the fellowship and
Mrs. Eric Thaclker,-.„rvon behalf.. --of': the
A.C.W., presented. Grace:: and Dorothy
with a lovely potted fliwer and signedla
card to accompany it.
Each of the ladies was so grateful. They
still weren't quite over the shock of the
dinner in their honour. Rev. Letson read a
Jon Gilbert poem and dosed with prayer.
The members visited in the lounge and
met some other friends. The entire time
was a joyous one to all of us. We signed a
card for Mrs. Jack Scott, who is in Scarbor-
ough General Hospital. We were reluctant
to leave Grace and Dorothy who were so
grateful for this kindly gesture.
