The Royal Bank Junior Olympics were held at St. Joseph's school in Kingsbridge on Wednesday;: May 22. The winners were, back row, left to eight, Christine Connelly, senior. girls champion; Vince Doherty, senior boys champion; and Patricia Stapleton, in- termediate girls champion. Mrs. Worsell also accompanied the class. They worKed with compasses in orienteer- ing exercises;ir.ci did an ecology study. They also played games such as food chair and bike hike. . Grade 6 would especially like to thank the cooks at camp for wonderful meals. On May'22 they went to the airport where Mr. Edward took them around and showed them a beach plane. Mr. Scruton also helped explain things to them. Mrs. Ottewell's Grade 2 and 3 class have started pioneer writing centres and pioneer library research in preparation for their trip ''on May 30 to Fanshawe Pioneer Village. Mr. Sygrove's class visited Hullett Public School to see the play Pieter Pan. The class made poetry books and read Them to many people at school and at home. Those who heard them read were asked to autograph their books. Kindergarten students made frogs. morfsters and boats. 'Christopher Humphrey has moved 'to Clinton. The class will miss him. Mrs. Judy McMichael was the teacher for Grade 3 class while Mrs. Worsell was with the Grade 6 class. They did art projects on trees. The pupils in Mrs. Blanchette's Grade 1 . class are each making their own alphabet book. Two -pitch teams have a schedule set up and are now playing. The tournament will be held in June. Brookside School would like to thank Allen Miller for the used his microphone on Field Day. Outdoor service on church lawn Members of Lucknow Presbyterian Church held their annual outdoor service, pot luck dinner and picnic on Sunday, June 2 on the church lawn. Mrs. Allan Murray, Mrs. John Emberlin and Mrs. Noble Johnston greeted the con- gregation. Piano prelude and music for the service was provided by Dale Gilchrist. Mrs. Robert Gilchrist led the service with Mrs. Allison Ramsay telling the children's story and giving the message. Luke Cranston led the responsive reading and Jackie Wilson and Jenny Cooper gave the scripture readings. Mrs. Noble Johnston gave the pastoral prayer. Mrs. Jim de Boer and Mae Raynard took up the offering. The benediction was pronotuiced by Rev. Allison Ra msabountiful pot luck dinner wad enjoyed by all present: Mrs. Harold Elphick conducted games for the younger children. Eric Taylor and Jeff Taylor led the older ones in races, games and contests: The fine weather helped to make it a day of fun and fellowship.
