Brookside holds Field Day

• Miss Garland's kindergarten class drew
a car of the future.
Mrs. Young was guest story reader for
Mrs. Worsell's grade 3 class this week.
Mrs. Blanchette's grade 1 pupils are
doing a unit on nutrition.
Mr. Sygrove's class saw a Raffi concert
on video tape last week. They are making
booklets about themselves. .On Friday,
they went to Hullett Central School to see a
production of Peter Pan.
Mrs. Graham's grade 4 students are
doing fall fair art. They are also working on
a project m social studies with Mr. Hazlitt,
Mrs. Marie Webster showed slides of
her Caribbean cruise to Mrs. Tebbutt's
• grade 4 and Mrs. Ottewell's grade 2 - 3
classes.
Dirt Bikes at Hangman's Clubhouse is
the name of a book being read by Mrs.
Allen's grade 5 class. The author, Sharon
,
Siamon, came to the school library on
Friday to talk to the children, answer
questions and autograph any of her bookS
they purchased.
Mrs. Siamon is related to Treleavens
from this area but her great grandfather
went west years ago and she was raised in

the west. She now lives in Toronto with her
husband ana tamuy.
Mr. Liddle's grade 6 had a scavenger
hunt with their grade 3 buddies. They are
practicing orienteering and making prepar-
ations for camping net week at Camp
Menesetung.

Get Together Club gets together
Barbara Wilkins of Paris visited on the
weekend with her parents, brother and
sister, Charles, *ayme, Kenny and Eliza-
beth Wilkins.
The Get Together. Club and some of the
members of Pine River United Club got
together Sunday night for an evening of
togetherness and fireworks display. The
fireworks were enjoyed by everyone, and
the younger fry really enjoyed the
sparlders. The evening was topped off with
hot dogs and coffee. The host and hostess'
for the evening were Barry and Betty
Jones.
Finlay MacDonald and son George Mac-
Donald have returned home from a fishing
trip at Lake Panach, north of Sudbury.
They had a very nice holiday but the fish
did not bite.

Russell. MacDonald, son of David
MacDonald, left Wednesday for the
western provinces.
Mayme Wilkins has been busy these last
few weeks getting her plants, vegatables
and flowers ready for sale. They are now
almost ready for the garden.
Visiting on Wednesday with Mr. and
Mrs. Riegling and family was Max's uncle,
John Riegling of Chatham.
Visiting op the weekend with Dorothy
Finlayson were Barbara Rogerson and her
two sons Andrew and Charles of Toronto,
Rod, Jeanie Finlayson and girls Lori and
Lisa of Sarnia, Bill and Judy Finlayson and
son John of Teeswater and -Allan Finlayson
of Toronto.

In accordance 'with the•Weed Control Act, R.S.O. 1980, Chapter 530, Section
4, 14, and 21, that unless noxious weeds growing on their land are destroyed
by June 10, 1985 and throughout the season, the Municipality may enter
upon the said lands and have the weeds destroyed, charging the cosh
against the land in taxes, as set out in the Act. In 1985 Proso Millet and
Velvet Leaf have been named as noxious weeds In most municipalities.
