This year's crop of yellow dandelions was in full bloom a week in advance of the tradi- tional D-day for Dandelions which is May 19 - last Sunday. It is nice to see the spring seeding up and changirig the brown fields to a green colour, and the bright canary yellow fields of fall Canola. Last Sunday evening Joe Dickinson and Ab Wylds returning from Walkerton noticed a large goose like bird flying. It was first spotted just west of Holyrood about a quarter of a mile north of the 8th concession. It continued to fly along for the next two to three miles. It was the first time either of us had seen a swan, flying that low and also so close. Several times we thought that it was going to land. Things about it were its long neck with its head pointed westward, its big wings and its light ashy grey colour which indicated it was a young one from last year. Wingham members attend Pro -Life dinner in Walkerton Members of the Wingham and area Pro-life group are still travelling regularly to Toronto to protest the continued opera- tion of the Morgentaler abortion dinic. Wingham Voice for Life was pleased at the number of people (approximately 150) attending the annual dinner, held this year at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church. We also appreciated Mr. Hughes' speech, in which he invited us all to take an active role in combating abortion rather than simply bemoaning the great number of abortions performed every day in this country_ and the opening of abortion clinics. Some members of our group attended the Walkerton Pro-life annual dinner, which was held on May 7. For the immediate future, our most important projects include a garage and bake sale, to 130–held on Fliday, June 28, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Sjaarda and another Walkathon. in September. - • All those interested in Pro-life work were reminded that an, organization called "Birthright", which exists in many countries in the world, assists and counsels • distrissed 'women. A chapter of Birthright is located in Winghain. Chapters closest to Wingham exist in London, Stratford and Goderich. • / VAN CAMP w -PORK, BROWN SUGAR, VEGITARIAN, MAPLE BROWN 14 OZ.
