Palace sends best wishes

celebratecitheir 65th wedding anniversary. •
They received a card of congratulations
from President Ronald Reagan and wife
Nancy, 'and also received a surprise
telephone call from BuCkirigham Palace
extending congratulations and informing
them a telepost -was being sent. The
telepost has since ' been received. My
apologies, to the McQuillins for the mixup

Mr. and Mrs. Spence Irwin, enjoyed. a
• trip- to Nashville, Tennessee recently. They
motored to Toronto where they tooka plane
to Nashville for a week's vacation.

Lucknow about two weeks ago for New
Guinea. Robert 1,4/going to teach Agricul-
ture, and his wife also has a position there.
Mr. and Mrs. MaeMillan lived on Ludgard

A bridal shower was held on Saturday
afternoon at the Kairshea hall for Mary
Ann Ritchie.
Margaret Keith chaired the prograrn.
Marilyn MacIntyre conducted a bingo
which carried on throughout the afternoon.
A contest was given by Joan Mowbray and
;AS W alien and Anna Mae Hunter gave a
reading. A sing song was also enjoyed with
Blanche Needham at the piano.
Mary Ann was called ,to the front to be
assisted by Joanne Pickard and "Barb
Young to open the gifts. Mary Ann thanked
the ladies and a lovely lunch was enjoyed.
Mr. and Mrs. 'Herb Buckton spent the
weekend in Waterloo visiting their son, Dr.
and Mrs. Bill Buckton, George and David.
Visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Ira Dickie on
Thursday were Mr. and Mrs. Carl Dickie
and -Olive Hepburn of Hope Bay and Clara
Beacoof W iarton .
All the Dickie family were home on
• Sunday and joined with members of the
Parker family at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
William Dickie. They enjoyed a bountiful
dinner following the baptism of their son,
Shea W illiam, at the morning service at
of 45 years of faithful service as a licensed
Funeral Director.
Mr. and Mrs. Spence Irwin and Mr. and
Mrs. Wesley Young enjoyed Mother's Day
dinner at the Sutton Park Inn.
Lyman and Pearl Sutton spent Sunday
afternoon with Garry and Donna Sutton
and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Haldenby of Sarnia
visited over the weekend with Marie and
Barry Haldenby and family.
A good crowd turned out at the Stag and
Doe for Sheila Button and David Gibson on
Saturday night.

Steer was able to get out of the hospital on
Sunday for a spring drive and to see the
lovely blossoms.
In last week's paper,. the Sentinel
printed that Mr. Harvey MacDougall cele-
brated his 88th birthday. It was actually his
80th birthday. Also, Mr. MacDougall
placed 1,500, rather than 500 bluebird
boxes in an effort to attract more of the
birds to the Bayfield area.
