Area resident in hospital
We are sorry to report that W esley Tiffin
had to be taken by ambulance to Wingham
Hospital on Thursday. The community
wishes him a quick recovery.
Jim Orr and friend of London called on
Mr. and Mrs: Victor Emerson on Sunday
afternoon.
The W.M.S. was held last week at the
home of Mrs. Bill Purdon owing to Mrs.
Alan Falconer being sick. The leaders were
Mrs. Bill Rintoul and Mrs. Neil Rintoul
with an attendance of seven. Mrs. Rod
Lamb was presented with a going away gift
as the Lambs are moving to Nova Scotia.
Isabel Tiffin of Lucknow is visiting with
Cassie Mowbray. and Mrs. Wesley Tiffin.
Mr. and Mrs. Archie Montgomery of
Blyth visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs.
Angtis Falconer.
Miss Karen Beecroft of Kitchener spent
the weekend witn her parents. On Sunday
Mr. and Mrs. Archie Hertel of Kitchener
and their. grandchildren, Scott and Cassie
of Kitchener and Ronald Beecroft and
Heather of W ingham, also visited with the
Beecrofts.
At the 4-H achievement night at Tees-
water Mrs. Archie Purdon was presented
with her 10 year certificate as a leader.

Ann Carey of Kitchener.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Gutoskie, Michelle
and Michael of Kitchener and Mr. and
Mrs. Mack Cardiff •of Brussels were
Sunday visitors with Mrs. Bill Rintoul,
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Tiffin and Dave Gibb
were at University Hospital on Monday

Meals on Wheels community project discussed
Nineteen members were present at the.
Kairshea Women's Institute annual meet-
ing held at the Institute hall on April 18.
Mrs. Leonard Clarke, president, welcomed
everyone.
Mrs. Harold Howald gave a report on the
district directors meeting. Mrs. Harry
Iavis gave an interesting report on the
progress of the new community project,
Meals on Wheels. Ideas on distribution
and suitable meal transportation contain-
ers would be welcomed.
Plans for the May bus trip to Niagara -on -
the Lake were enthusiastically discussed.
Everyone supported Mrs. Harold Howald's
Pennies for Friendship draw by buying
tickets on three prizesof baked items. The
winners were Mrs. Bob Gilchrist and Mrs.
Frank MacKenzie.
Roll call was payment of fees and an
exchange of plant slips and bulbs. Some
members showed beautiful craft items they
had made in the past year.
Excellent reports were given by all
conveners on the years work. Congratula-
tions to all. members for their hard work in
making this years meetings interesting and
successful.
A gift was presented to our outgoing
president, Mrs. Leonard Clarke, and our
hard working secretary -treasurer, Mrs.
Donald MacIntyre. .
Mrs. Cliff Roulston installed the new
-officers for 1985-86. They are as follows:

Sunshine Sisters revealed at recent meeting
The St. Helens Women's Institute
members and their guests gathered in the
hall in St. Helens on Monday evening,
April 15, for their 23rd annual Sunshine
Sister banquet.
During the program, which followed a
bountiful turkey dinner, served by the
ladies of Donnybrook. U. C. W . , Mr. Murray
Hunter of Wingham, showed slides'of his
recent trip to the Yukon.
Gifts were exchanged and the identity of
each Sunshine Sister was revealed. Special
recognition was given to four members
who -received perfect attendance gifts for
attendance at the regular monthly meet-
ings. These members were: Mrs`. Gordon
Lyons, Mrs. Jim Aitchison, Mrs. Loyd
Moffat and Mrs. Harold Cooper.
Other prizes given were: Mrs. John
Struttan for lucky plate; Mrs. Alex Purvis
for lucky saucer; Miss Beatrice McQuillin
for lucky chair; Robert Aitchison for facing
the 23rd anniversary wreath; and Mrs.
Alex Purves who was holding the gift when
the music stopped. In keeping with the
theme of 23, Mrs. Gordon MacPherson,
Mrs, Del Burkhart and Miss Beatrice
McQuillin all received a gift for 23 letters in
their full name.
