Attend Helen Sholtz's 75th birthday party at Whitechurch

75th birthday.. Between 40 and 50 attended
from Tillsonburg, Kitchener, Iiiclmow, St.
Catharines, Dungannon, Whitechurch and
W ingham. She received many beautiful
gifts from the family.
On Good Friday evening, Rev. George
Ball held a service at the United Church to
which Chalmers congregation were invit-
ed. The weather not being good, the
attendance was small. Rev. Ball gave a
very interesting ceremony on Faster. The
choir sang Dark Gesthemane.
Sunday School started on Sunday at
Chalmers Church.
The community is sorry .to learn from a
phone call to Mrs. Wesley Tiffin, that Sid
Payne, well known here, has been in
hospital for some time this winter. The
community wishes Sid future good health.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Falconer and family
of Bright's Grove visited Thursday with
Cassie Mowbray.
Mr. and Mrs. Relison Falconer of Sarnia
spent Easter weekend with his mother,
Cassie Mowbray.
Angus and Kevin Falconer attended the
funeral of Peter Kenny of Strathroy on
Saturday.

Whitechurch U. C. W . held their meeting
Wednesday, April 3 at the home of Mrs.
Dave Gibb.
Mrs. Agnes Farrier opened the meeting
with an Faster poem. Mrs. Elmer Sleight -
home gave the meditation.
Mrs. Farrier read legends from the
different trees to make the Cross on which
Jesus was crucified. Letters from mission-
aries working in Grenada, Napol, India and
Kenya were then read.
Mrs. Russel Chapman read the minutes
and called the roll, answered by nine
telling Of a missionary going to a foreign
country. The collection and least coin were
received.
Mrs. Farrier thanked the hostess, Mrs
-Gibb, for the delicious lunch.

Jennifer Mabon, milk and sleep; Peter
Hooftman, the ear; Scott Strawbridge, •
plants with hot and cold water; and in the
computer division, Wayne Black.
Winners in grade 6 biological division
were Karen, Bakker and Debbie Nivins,
plants; Sheila Hymers, uses, of trees;
Alison Curran, mushrooms.
Grade 6 physical division winners were
Andrew .Glenn, water wheels; Derek
Turner, Kevin Webster, paper towels;

Miss Garland's kindergarten class is
making a book in which they are drawing
and painting pictures of their visit to the
sugar bush.
Mrs. Blanchette's grade 1 made booklets
about the sugar bush. They are now doing
research on dinosaurs as a result of going
to the museum.
Mr. Sygrove's class are reading • the
book, Farmer Boy, and talking about
pioneer times.
'Mr. liddle's class is planning a Fun Fair
on April 4.
Brookside seniors participated in a
basketball tournament in Goderich on
March 29. Mrs. Allen was coach of the
senior girls who won the consolation final
at Victoria School. Mr. Sygrove coached
the senior boys who played at Robertson
School and put forth a good effort
displaying good sportsmanship.
Mrs. Allen's class is reading a novel on
monsters,.
Correction: In mentioning helpers of
Erewhon Theatre last week it was Misti
Humphrey who/ helped rather than her ,
sister, Melanie.
Mrs. Ottewell's grade 2 and 3 are • •
involved in Faster Activities. For each
activity they do, they receive a paper egg
for their basket. They are also beginning to
learn songs for their part in the concert/on
April 30.
Mrs. Tebbutt's class heard a report from
Jodi Webster on her trip tn the Bahamas
and one from Lisa Cairncross on her trip to
Florida.
